Absolutely amazing exhibits such as Gallipoli and the nature exhibit. My 7 year old Son absolutely loved it. But the only sad note was the propaganda 2 versions of the treaty Climate emergency etc.. There was twice as much info on Maori history compared to colonial or even on how far we've come as a nation taking the country from Bush and swamp and long drop Toilets to the amazing place we all share now.

This is a must see. We always enjoyed our time here.
This is a must see. We always enjoyed our time here. They have lockers for rent on the first floor if you have bags. It's always a treat to sit in the cafe and have tea and cake after walking around the exhibits. A favorite NZ museum.

Te Papa Museum is an amazing place.
Te Papa Museum is an amazing place. The history and preservation of the past are so well done. The Gallipoli museum display is unique and confronting with larger-than-life figures done in such a way that they look life-like. It does exemplify the stupidity of war!
Preservation of Maori art and culture is also clearly and respectfully displayed and is well worth seeing. This museum was the real attraction of coming to Wellington for us and it surpassed our expectations.

If you only have the day, then Te Papa is where to spend it.
If you only have the day, then Te Papa is where to spend it. The WW1 exhibit is breathtaking, and they have used the time it was closed to improve a lot of the areas. Even if you've been here many times, it is always worth a see.

Absolute must for any visit to Wellington.
Absolute must for any visit to Wellington. Full of great historical exhibits about the Maori people and culture, and about the history and lifestyles of the European settlers, even though the way they developed the country must now be regarded as questionable.
There are also frequent special exhibitions which are always unmissable.

The location is unbeatable. It's literally next to Te Papa museum, harbourside market and New World Supermarket. Self check in with the machine was easy. Hostel is newly renovated, kitchen and bathroom are spacious and clean. Room is nicely decorated with style and equipped with fridge and kettle.
Really friendly staff. Valet service was very handy.
Clean, comfortable room. Pool area nice.
Breakfast was really nice.
My daughter enjoyed all the quirky art pieces around.
Great location, only 2 minutes walk to Te Papa museum.
Centrally located on Lambton Quay, the property provided easy access to Wellington’s CBD, waterfront, shopping areas, and major attractions like Te Papa Museum.
Great central location and within walking distance of the Cable Car Terminal, Te Papa Museum and a variety of restaurants in the area. The on site restaurant whilst a limited menu, had a good variety and from what I had, was decent. All throughout the hotel had attentive staff on hand.
Such an interesting hotel and apartments, great art and great location. Very modern, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. The apartment was well fitted-out and the 6th floor has great views across Wellington harbour. A great area for lots of diverse restaurants, across the road from the Te Papa museum and walking distance to the central city for shopping, the harbour ferry, cable car and much more. Good restaurants abound (really enjoyed the Yacht Club and Fratellis), harbourside and surrounding streets.
Convenient location right next to the central bus and train station. Only a 20 minute walk from Te Papa museum. Staff were super friendly and it's a good clean hotel
It’s central, very close to a New World supermarket and the Te Papa museum. Surrounded by many bars and restaurants as well. It is walkable to all sights, but can be rather far (e.g. parliament) for the elderly.
You get the facilities you paid for. The private bathroom was basic. But the beds were comfortable. The reception staff were busy but friendly. They will try their best to meet your needs.
Great location. Walk to Lambton Quay to shops, eateries, Supermarket (Woolworths). Attractions closeby Cable Car & Te Papa Museum, and sports stadiums.
Room spacious and bed comfortable, Shower pressure good with hot water available,
Plenty of seating in lobby area. Big screen great to watch rugby game. Cafe / Restaurant good.
