Kuirau Park is a fantastic place to roam around.
Kuirau Park is a fantastic place to roam around. It was free entry. Within the park there are hot springs and spectacular geothermal displays. There are many walking paths but we found that walking in some unpathed areas resulted in mud patches. This is a must do area to visit.

It is clean with a modern design. It has a communal lounge and kitchen, available for use to everyone. Can bring in your own food to store in their shared fridges (just to label them). The place is close to the restaurants, so just a quick walk to go through them. It’s close to Kuirau Park as well for a quick leisurely walk.
Love the privacy that the curtains give you in your bed. The Hala House concept is Great! Calm crowd and quiet location right next to Kuirau Park. Big kitchen, space in fridge and shelves to store food items

A great place to stay. Walking distance to everything in town and right across the street from Kuirau Park a free geothermal attraction with amazing views and foot bath.
The mess hall was well maintained, the pool was warm, and the wifi was on point. They had computers and a quiet room for those who need to get work done. The staff were super helpful when I needed to add a day and very friendly.
Incredible breakfasts with the hosts as we learned more about New Zealand and the culture, host was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and useful discounts, meticulously clean. Super easy access to Kuirau Park across the street and all the geothermal features there and easy to walk to food and in-town attractions.
Great location and lakefront views, so handy to Eat Street, Kuirau Park and city centre. Nice to have access to bar, swimming pool and restaurant in the hotel complex.
