This is the Monkey Temple.
This is the Monkey Temple. So if you don't like monkeys it is not the place for you. I have now been here twice and won't go again. I find the smell of fire/incense and still water not enjoyable and the noise can also overwhelm. I did notice that there is a lot of litter/refuse that could be addressed as the monkeys eat and play with it and it just looks unclean and uncared for and the temple represents such a special place for many.

the Boudhanath stupa and its immediate surroundings are a veritable island of calm and serenity in the noisy chaos which is Kathmandu.
mere meters away crazy motorcycle drivers are tearing the alleys honking insanely but in this big calm square redolent with incense,full of prostrating worshippers, happy dogs and pigeones, ringing bells and spinning prayer wheels you are on a different planet and you'll do wisely to stay, join the crowds in their clockwise tread and mumble with them: om manni padme hum.

One of the most pleasant, animated, place to go, really...
One of the most pleasant, animated, place to go, really amazing, lots of people making "koras" (walking in circle, clockwise, a must, around the stupa). Sometimes masked dancers will perform around the Stupa, and regular "pooja" (celebration and offerings) around the Stupa. Very close to Lotus Garden Cloud 9 hotel, easy to walk to the Stupa from there. Lots of stores and shops (maybe a bit more expensive than in "typical" Kathmandu... go where the Nepalis shop! Buddhanath is also a World Heritage site, so... a must see, you will not forget your visit there, biggest Stupa in Nepal, impressing for sure!

A must see. Easy by bus from Ratna Park or $6 taxi. Best to go early and stay long for best experience. Some days better tha others though. Couldn't see point of going to rooftop cafes just to be 3 metres above anyone else. View hardly any better.

Hospitality is one of the most important things when you come very tired after travelling 10 hours. Thanks! The hotel is a few steps by Boudhanath Stupa. Also you can reach the Pasupatinath temple easily by a walk or taxi.
Had a lovely stay here. Was a great location with close walking distance to Boudhanath Stupa, restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpful and kind. Also the bed was very comfortable had the best sleep of my whole trip !
There is also a cute garden with places to sit.
The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I arrived quite late, and they arranged a driver and stayed up to let me into the room. They also gave me a room at the entrance to the hallway, so my late arrival wouldn't disturb the other guests.
Breakfast in the morning was in a lovely garden.

Beautiful hotel. You can see that it has been painstakingly built n decorated. Location was near to Boudhanath Stupa. Secluded but a short distance from main road which was easier to get transport and the hub of activities.
the hotel is located in an excellent location, on a quiet street 200 meters from the Boudhanath stupa. There is hot water in the shower all the time, which is very important. welcoming and friendly staff.
We only stayed one night, but this was the perfect hidden gem for that one night. The location was perfect to see the Boudhanath Stupa (walking distance) and felt like a peaceful sanctuary to come back to after walking through the vibrant energy of Kathmandu. The room was clean and cozy and the staff were helpful. Sitting in their courtyard just outside the temple with a cup of ginger honey lemon tea was perfection, especially after finishing a long trek. It's also nice knowing the proceeds go to help the Monastery.
Located only a few minutes walk from the Boudhanath Stupa, this place is so peaceful and cozy. If you want to stay in a quiet place, away from Nepal's traffic, this is the place to stay. When I was there, there was always someone at the reception area 24 hours to take care of your needs and questions. That is what I appreciate the most. Water was hot. Room is clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent, the Tibetan food in particular. Good food overall in the restaurant. Great staff, funny and helpful. It was so peaceful at the hotel compared to the rest of Kathmandu. You can’t beat having a monastery in the garden. Five minutes walk to the Boudhanath stupa.
