We stayed at this wonderful hotel as a group of three people
The stay at the hotel was perfect, even before arriving at the hotel and throughout our entire stay, the entire hotel staff without exception was professional, courteous, and helped and assisted with everything needed.
**I should mention that one of the guests was an elderly person, and I had contacted them in advance with a request for assistance with a suitable room.
The hotel staff was incredibly kind and attentive to every request, and we received a stunning room adapted for a person with mobility limitations, including an accessible and luxurious bathroom. Additionally, we arrived at the hotel early, before the defined check-in time, and it was a pleasant and heartwarming surprise to find that the room was ready.
The breakfast was of very high quality and met all our needs.
This is a high-quality and special hotel, a real gem. Our entire stay at the hotel was perfect from start to finish

Ugh. If you're into Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks and Burger King on every corner you've found your place. Otherwise, honestly, skip it. There's a lot of history here, obviously, but it was lost in the crowds and the clutter. Sad.

On Dam Square, the Royal Palace exterior looks grotty but inside it was amazing. Pay an entry and be well pleased with what you get to see. The audio device was too soft for me but just follow the signs and look for yourself.

Worth a visit to see the different architecture in the city which then leads onto the large shopping area and department store. We went November and everywhere was starting to display their windows and the streets ready for Christmas, lovely atmosphere.

Do.Not.Give.Money.TO THE PIGEON GUYS.
Do.Not.Give.Money.TO THE PIGEON GUYS.
Pigeons are filthy, the numbers of people we saw covered in pigeons asking their friends to take a picture is, yuck, feeling nauseous just typingg it.
I rephrase it, you can give them money cause they obviously need it but for the love of god don't count "getting assaulted by pigeon" as a Dam square attraction.

A lovely old hotel just off Dam square, which was a perfect location to explore old Amsterdam,
It was clean and comfortable, we had a room at the rear which was extremely quiet at night, The furniture etc is a little dated but still fine.
Breakfast was superb, staff very friendly.
The location of the hotel was very central to what we had planned, just a couple of minutes walk to Dam Square and tram stops opposite the hotel.
Bonus is that the hotel serves hot and cold beverages and meals.
Rooms are nice and clean. Location of the hostel is so perfect, when you get out there is small and nice coffee shop. If you walk towards to Amsterdam central station there is place to rent a bike and also in 10 min. walk you will arrive to the DAM Square.
My 4th stay so far, I think it's the best hotel for Amstrdam visitors, it's like 7 minutes away from dam square. You have a lrage supermarket beside the hotel, beautiful river view & the rooms are large enough.
Good location - can easy get to Dam Square by walking or by tram
Spacious apartment with kitchen and welcome pack
Laundry room
Staff very friendly and helpful
Staff gave us a gift for our anniversary which was nice 😊
Very good location. Walking distance to Dam Square. Hotel in quaint side street with bars and restaurants. Lovely lady who greeted us at reception went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Continental breakfast was more than enough. Well done Best Western Dam Square.
The location was very convenient. With tram 13, you could be at Dam Square within 15 minutes, and the stop was right in front of the hotel. Our room (the Cocomat room) was wonderful—comfortable and very clean. I loved that each room had its own theme. The staff, mostly interns at the hotel, were always smiling, friendly, polite, and eager to assist. They worked as a team. I highly recommend it.
Staff ware so friendly especially Johnny give us recommendations and even a map of where we should visit great facilities can rent a bike from the hotel for the day for free, about 30 mins from Amsterdam square but there was a metro station less than a 1 minute walk away and the tram was just outside the hotel door

Visit The Nine Streets 'De Negen Straatjes' for unique boutiques with the odd Abercrombie shop. I love the shoes here, try United Nude-pop up shops scattered around right now. I love De Bijenkorf (The Beehive), the department store by Dam Square for its one step ahead, soon to come homewares trends.

If you take a detour from the main shopping strip leading to Dam Square, there are a number of smaller shops for the more particular shopper. My favourite was what looked like a small musical instrument shop, but turned out to be huge. There was also a retro computer game shop that was a little expensive but had an amazing array of consoles and games.

Stay off the beaten track and away from places like Dam Square and the Red Light District. There are plenty of small cafes and restaurants close to the canals. Look for where the local people go to eat and take recommendations from your hotel. Always worth checking out the restaurants in the Internet before you go and always try to book
