Nothing of interest in the square, but a close taxi stand to the Medina and on the way to the Batha Museum (currently closed) and the Jnan Sbil gardens -- the Central Park of Fes and an essential place to cool off on hot days and when exploring to/from all parts of the city.

Be careful with local guides who will not leave you until they sell you a guided tour for 10€ (as they say originally) but you will end up paying 50-70€ for a sloppy guide tour. In addition, they or their friend will probably rob you. All the above information is from my friend’s experience and a warning from our hotel staff.

Riad has big common space. Room and bathroom were nice. Breakfast was good. Plus upon arrival we were given welcoming tea.
The boys running the riad were very kind.
Location is good - a minute walk from the Batha square from where you can enter the narrow streets of the is medina.
Very good and helpfull staff. Very close to Batha square for drop off & pickup. Walking distance to points of interest in the Medina. Much better choice for family of five than a hotel.
Location: take a taxi from airport to batha square, the hotel is not inside the old Medina, so it s convenient you don’t need to walk. There is no lift, but they help you with your suitcases.
An excellent place for backpackers. A great young host who told us about the history of Fes, told us places to visit, offered mint tea. A traditional Riad with a traditional atmosphere, the room a little worn but part of the style. Bathroom, AC and Wifi worked well. A good breakfast service. Very good service overall. Great location with short walking distance from the blue gate. A taxi to Batha square is the best arrival option. We travelled as 2 adults + 12 yr old.
