This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed in. The team here are the kindest people. No issue is too much and the little touches they add everyday make this stay just even better. From welcome drinks on arrival and after tours, to handmade cakes, to a delicious breakfast in the morning. We even got a photo at the end as a gift for our stay. This family truly makes you feel like a part of them from the moment you arrive.
The beds are super comfortable, the rooms are a little basic but have good amenities like air purifiers and air-conditioning. All rooms are incredibly clean and the location is close to the centre of the city. The staff have great suggestions and they also provide a fantastic tour service.
Our driver for our day trip, Khem.Ry, was fantastic. He took us off the beaten path and showed us around local villages and hidden gems, while also teaching us alot about local plants and food. He was very helpful and an excellent driver. I highly recommend the day tour with him as it was an excellent experience!
The final touch that makes this place a fantastic destination was that when our taxi to Siem Reap broke down, the owner himself took us the whole way there, ensuring we had a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
For such a new hotel, having only opened late 2024, I would happily say Muni is one of the best places I have ever stayed, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Battambang.

The pool was great to relax in after the heat of the morning.
I enjoyed drinking at the bar and then being able to have great meals in the hotel.

Just a great place to stop over for a day. Staf really helpful and nice. Rooftopbar is probably one of the cooler locations in the town.
Battambang could be really nice one day. Loads super nice colonial buildings in the center. But it looks like the old town of Havana where you have the unpaved streets and derelict buildings.
The boat trip from Siem Reap is worth the dystopian experience though. (Buy yourself a beer cooler and sit with a couple of friends on the roof for 6 hours and enjoy the view)

My suggestion is to stay on the East side of the river which is where Sangker Villa is situated and then walk the east side river promenade before crossing over one of the bridges. You get a great view of the main CBD on the west side that way (a lot of which is French colonial) Once you are across the bridge (depending on which one) you can head south and look at the magnificent Italianate Provincial Hall,it's stunning. Battambang is a very easy city to walk around. Street 2 1/2 just south of the market is a little oasis, cafes, galleries in colonial buildings and quite peaceful.
