Rita Izumo is an ancient warehouse that has been beautifully renovated.
The inside in ancient wood is very cosy, every object has been chosen with care and taste.

Itadaki Daisen is a well appointed hotel that delivers exceptional customer service, against the backdrop of its spectacular location. Danny and his team provide a thoughtful service. The breakfast and dinner options were delicious and sourced from the local smorgasbord that the fertile region provides. I will come back again to this beautiful hotel and Daisen region.

Stayed 2 days at the hotel and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. They even had a English speaking staff to assist foreign tourists. I really felt "omotenashi" during my stay here.
The facilities were great too and I'm so happy that they had free washing machine. You just needed to pay another 100 yen to dry your clothes for 20 mins. It was great that you could enjoy the onsen, wait for your laundry to finish, then enjoy the free ice-cream or probiotic drink after the onsen.
Had breakfast during the New Year period and the food was great. There was a change in the menu on day 2, so I was impressed.

The location was perfect — 2 blocks from Matsue Station, a 15 minute walk from Matsue Castle and the Art Museum, and with a convenience store around the corner. The staff were very accomodating (me, a non-Japanese speaker). The in-house coin laundry was handy (cost me only ¥300 to wash and dry). The shared bath made me want to spend more time in the hotel than out! The double room was plenty spacious for me as a solo traveller. I have no complaints and enjoyed my stay.
The location was excellent, steps away from the Matsue Castle and a short walk from the restaurant and downtown area. Although we took a taxi from Matsue Station, there is also a bus that comes to the end of the street and is very convenient.
Our host was excellent, very thoughtful and flexible. She gave us suggestions and recommendations and made us a reservation at a charming soba restaurant.
Comfortable room, with views of distant mountains. Tasty breakfast with a focus on sustainability. Great location directly opposite the JR Station, near the lake, and within walking distance of Matsue Castle.

Exceeded expectations. Large size room ( we booked a single room for a couple). Very clean and modern. Towels were larger than the usual small size for a Japanese hotel stay.
Hotel is located across the road from the station/ take underpass outside station (next to information building) to cross the road.

Matsue Castle within walking distance - fairly flat although you can take the no. 7 bus from the bus depot outside the train station.
A basic accommodation with great atmosphere when enough people are booked in. The owner is very friendly. Next to Matsue castle, and 20 minutes from Matsue station by bus, which puts it within reach of Izumo, Daisen, Sakaiminato, Iwami Ginzan...
High CP. Comparing to Arima/Hakone Onsen, this is really at the low price. Comparing to other Matsue hotels with same rank, Onyado Nono has a little bit higher price but come with luxury breakfast and good Onsen. Amenities are all very new.
