Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable!
The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for.
The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely.
Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

Get there early and park close to the falls.
Get there early and park close to the falls. Parking isn't expensive and after you see the falls, you can leave your car there and walk down to the Lake and carry on via the boat tour to see other area attractions.

The location is very good. It's just 300-500m from kegon falls. Rooms are spacious despite having three bunk beds with a capacity of six adults in a room.
It's just a guesthouse not a full fledged hotel room so bare minimum expectations were met.
Only a couple of minutes walk to Toshogu shrine. Restaurants up the hill same street on left beautiful old sukiyaki restaurant. Give that a go while staying here. Dont forget to go to Kegon falls too
A really convenient place to stay the night after exploring this part of Nikko. Amazing lake view from the room, walking distance to kegon falls, and only a bus ride to Senjogahara.
The onsen was nice and relaxing. It was a little small but was pretty quiet during our stay.
The staff were really nice and accommodating. We experienced a heavy snow fall upon check out and they offered us a lift to the bus station.
Excellent location. A very nice view of the Lake. very convenient near Kegon falls. Owner is very accommodating. And the food is what i really liked most. A superb taste and presentation.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable! They gave me lots of good tips for sightseeing around Nikko and Chuzenji.
It's within easy walking distance of most of the main sights, and also for the bus stop to go to Chuzenji and Kegon falls.
