The staff were extrememly helpful in every way. The room was beautifully appointed with luxurious furniture, bedding, bathroom facilities and sauna. The food was plentiful and the breakfast was delicious. The city itself is delightful with freindly people and had wonderful shops and many other attractions. We loved it so much we will return!

Everything was fabulous: you cannot get a better location - next to the oldest onsen in Japan! Very quiet district, parking your rented car in an automated lift tower: super practical and cheap.
The room was large and very comfortable, with lots of windows looking over the onsen.
Breakfast was a simple Japanese traditional one, served in the restaurant nextdoor.
Staff were helpful and some spoke English.
Highly recommended: Matsuyama is really worth a visit.

Good location, near the tram station that goes around Matsuyama. 5 min walking to the cable car to Matsuyama Castle. Mall and comercial street with shops, cafes and restaurants just in front of the hotel.
The room is meant to be Japanese home-like experience, separating bath/toilet and the sink (which is in the main room).
Breakfast was buffet, mixing Western and Asian cousine.
There is coin laundry and vending machine, microwave and ice machine available on 2nd floor.
Staff was really nice.

Helpful friendly staff. A great variety of facilities on various floors including microwave ovens, washing machines and amazing massage chairs adjacent to the Onsen. Very comfortable room.

Dogo Onsen is just on the opposite, and it takes only 5 minutes to Dogo onsen station.

Stayed at Hotel Eco Dogo for two nights and overall had a good experience. It only takes 3 minutes to walk to Dogo Onsen and 6 minutes to walk to Dogo Onsen station. There is a limousine bus ran by Iyotestu/伊予鉄道 which take you from directly from Matsuyama airport to Dogo Onsen Station or vice versa. The dorm room bed is quite spacious and there is a dedicated full-size locker for each dorm occupant. The lady who handles the reception duty is very helpful and friendly.
A perfect base to fully explore Dogo Onsen and also Matsuyama itself. It's only a few minutes walking to all three onsens, and only a minute to Dogo Onsen station (don't miss the handbath and the shrine that is located between both).
The hotel is accessible to Dogo Onsen Station through a regular shuttle service. It makes it easier to enjoy the city! Also, there are many activities in the hotel like the Karaoke rooms and table tennis area.
The hostel is near the Dogo Onsen station and you can walk just 3 minutes from the station. The price was also cheap. In the room, the guests are not many and a little quiet.
Close to Dogo onsen station. To avoid confused taxi drivers at MATSUYAMA station, arrive no later than 9pm and take the tram. From the tram go left to the covered shopping street, left 1st exit, next block left by the pub, to the end, turn right. building on yhe left 30 meters down. The left door slides to open. They close at 10. The is an 800 yes charge per 30 minute late check-in. That's why not later than 9pm.
The guesthouse is about a 10 minute walk from Dogo Onsen station and less than 5 minutes from Dogo Onsen. The inside of the guesthouse is very clean and cozy and the owner is very friendly. There are showers and a communal kitchen that you can use. There is free coffee and tea that you can have at any time. The bunk beds have curtains that you can close to give yourself privacy when you sleep.
The location is easily accessible from Dogo Onsen Station, a spacious (paid) parking lot is available at the front of the hotel and the staff is the friendliest and very patient. If you come in as a group of friends, you can opt for a room of your own depending on which day of the week you stop by.
