Blue Lagoon
Only 20 minutes’ drive from Keflavík International Airport, Iceland’s premier geothermal spa is most visitors’ first or last sight of the volcanic island. And what an impression the Blue Lagoon leaves you with. Plonked down in this steamed-up landscape of mineral-rich waters and rejuvenating silica mud, you can’t help but feel you’ve experienced life on another planet.

In Winter there are only 4 hours of light so do visit the lagoon during also by daylight.
The water has 39 celsius degrees and thus is an impressive spot.

I LOVED the Blue Lagoon.
I LOVED the Blue Lagoon. It amuses me that people say it's touristy. Only by Iceland's standards, it was brilliant vs UK standards. Not too many people, a stunning environment, nice shop, nice cafe, nice freebies, nice changing - it's huge so there's room for lots of people.

Very relaxing, just what I need after a long day trip.
Very relaxing, just what I need after a long day trip. Beautiful place. The water is very nice and hot. There's an area that it's like a (waterfalls section), it's great massage for the shoulder, head & back. It's expensive, but it's worth it. I highly recommend it.

Everything - this was the most perfect layover. Usually I book hotels but the reviews on this place was exceptional so we bookedhere - and was not disappointed. The husband/wife duo that runs it - were there when needed to support, answer questions and provide helpful tips. The house was spacious, super clean and guests staying there were super respectful of others and kept it clean and tidy. This was a perfect place to stay if you are going to the Blue Lagoon or to check out the volcanoes. Would stay here again and highly recommend.
Good place to stay for just a night. There is a restaurant very next to it (belongs to another hotel) so getting morning coffee or breakfast was easy. Other wise although a good place this property is located is sort of drab, industrial, Wearhouse looking area.
We wanted a reasonable and comfortable stay near Blue Lagoon. This did fit the bill perfectly.
We spent just one night here when we did an Iceland stopover on our way to the US. It was absolutely amazing. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and kind. The restaurant is very good. Of course, we visited the Blue Lagoon, which was a great experience. The hotel offers a shuttle service, but ist’s just a 20 minute walk through the lava fields that is an adventure on its own (on a solid path of course). Our six year old daughter loved everything about it. The taxi service was totally flawless as well. I‘m sure we will be back <3
such a beautiful hotel, really friendly with beautiful views. exactly what you want from Iceland. lovely food in Max’s restaurant… great vegetarian option too. open fire in the evenings. few minutes to blue lagoon.
we left there for a couple of days in the city - and what a mistake that was.
Very hip hotel at The Blue Lagoon with its own private lagoon and spa. Very relaxing, excellent helpful staff- thank you Thor. Wonderful room looking out onto the lava fields-amazing scenery. Lovely breakfast and dinner at Lava restaurant . The lagoon and spa were amazing.
Wow! What an amazing apartment! Only 9 min away from the Blue Lagoon! Very clean and taken care of. Easy check in. Feels like I was on a vacation but home. Amazing! Highly recommend!
Everything.
This was our first hotel in Iceland and it was so, so, so good.
Staff were friendly and helpful, they had a free shuttle to the Blue Lagoon, huge and delicious breakfast, open fire in the evening, chess board and free waffles for afternoon tea....Brilliant.
Exceptional hotel in a must-do Icelanding landmark. Staying at the hotel also grants a couple of free masks and a free drink at the public Blue Lagoon, which is always nice. They also have a Northern Light alarm call that you can sign up for where they call you if northern lights are active and visible at night
We had previously stayed in Hella experiencing what Iceland has to offer and it was amazing. As it was a belated honeymoon we thought we'd stay a couple days at the retreat to experience what it had to offer. Unfortunately the only thing we liked was the staff, room & cleanliness. The hotel was decorated well and looked nice. The private spa lagoon was a nice intimate touch for relaxing away from the blue lagoon crowd. The breakfast was nice and was hosted in the main lobby. You also get an additional Afternoon tea experience.
