Really not far from the airport, so a good spot if you don’t want to be stuck in a crazy traffic.
The restaurant at the hotel is nice with plenty of options for the breakfast.
It’s quiet at the hotel, especially when restaurants and bars in the area stop live music.

Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.
Sanur was great for us. Previously we had stayed in resorts in Nusa Dua when the kids were younger, so we were ready for a change. It was more mellow than Seminyak or Legian but amazing restaurants, good shops and amenities. It was just right for what we wanted.

I found Sanur to be lovely. Not too busy.
I found Sanur to be lovely. Not too busy. Plenty of really nice restaurants and some Warungs. Shopping was very good. Visit Suri 2 shops up from the Corner Restaurant Sala. She is so lovely and honest and wont rip you off.. You wont even need to barta. Our go to restaurant was Sala which is on the corner.. 180 Tambligan.. do yourself a favour and have brekky there.. you wont be disappointed.. and then a little walk up that road and you'll come to Bali Emerald Villa.. OMG.. amazing!!!
In-between Sala restaurant and Suri is: who we called the pink ladies which is an upstairs beauty and massage salon.. very professional massages and pampering.. ahh just what the body needs.
Sanur is very relaxing, friendly and a warm, peaceful place to visit.

Sanur was a bit too sleepy.
Sanur was a bit too sleepy. A good spot to base yourself if you are going to the islands but unfortunately while we were there, it was raining a lot so we decided not to go to the islands. There wasn't much to do in Sanur.

Sanur is a pleasant beachside town that isn't too overcrowded or crazy like some other places in Bali. I would say it best suits families and couples looking for plenty of things to do without being a big party place. It has a port which can connect you to other islands.
Icon Bali is a very new and fancy shopping centre which is a beautiful and impressive building, overpriced but worth a visit for the architecture and performances that happen regularly.
There wasn't anything about Sanur that really blew me away and so I probably wouldn't go there again, but it was a good introduction for our first time in Bali.

Sanur is (maybe now was) a sleepy little area on the east coast of Bali. Now maybe not so with the new Icon Sanur mall but we didnt mind. The area is cheap from foot to Massages and everything in between.
The Mall adds a little high end shopping to your experience but honestly we went to the local warungs most nights to support them, and the food was better and cheaper.

Sadly there is now a huge shopping centre slap bang in the middle of sanur on the beach...it's like Kuta, this isn't helping the locals as the road is very very congested and people just arrive, go round the shopping centre and leave so the locals do not get trade in their shops either side. It is very sad that the beach front has been cut in half by this 😢 but the Sanur we all love still exists so please still visit and support the local people here

Rooms are big and clean staff are always friendly and helpful.Great breakfast and nice big pool is cool not like all pools in Bali. You are the bypass so pickup is easy . Quick walk to the beach and main street of Sanur. But there is a shuttle bus if you don't like to walk .The Hotel is on the bypass but you can't hear the traffic.Great hotel if you have alot of day trips. With great access for the drivers less detour for the drivers .I would recommend Grand palace hotel to stay if you're visiting Bali.
Very clean and comfortable hotel with wonderful staff and great breakfast (loved the banana pancakes). The pool area (equipped with pool towels) is very nice as well to just relax. The location of the hotel makes it very easy to explore Sanur or get to the port to get to the other islands.
In comparison to most other hotels I’ve stayed in during my travels in Bali, Akaya is super clean, and the room, bed, shower, etc make it super comfortable to stay here.
We stayed in the two bedroom villa which was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The gardens and pool areas were immaculate and we love the old style of this hotel. We stayed as this was part of the transit for us to travel over to Lembongan otherwise it is a bit of a distance from the goings on of Sanur central. We will stay here again. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was good.
It was our first stay at prama we where very surprised when we arrived was not expecting the hotel to be Soo big and wonderful.then the driver told us it was the old Sanur hotel many years ago.it was the first time I ever came to Bali over 30 years ago I couldn't believe it is was nothing like the days it was one of the be est hotels I ever stayed in Bali. Definitely coming back .
Location was perfect. Close to the beach and centre of Sanur. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. The hotel organised a traditional Balinese dinner whilst I was there. Beautiful dancers.
