Our room was lovely and big, as was the super king bed which was a welcome sight after coming from a small double. Very comfortable as well. Breakfast was cooked to your request and continental available as well. Dinner was also good as was the pub's atmosphere. This is on the main bus route straight into the city , but also only a 45 minute walk which we ended up doing on the way back from a busy day sightseeing, stopping off for dinner.

Ascot House is a beautiful period property. Our stay exceeded all our expectations. The check in was simple, straight forward and June was a lovely, welcoming host. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The shower and the amenities within the room were fantastic. The breakfast which was included in our room rate was tasty, hot and prepared very well. All the food was freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Checkout was easy and with added parking to the property made our stay even better.

The flat was perfect for my 5 days in York for a conference at the University. Beyond a very comfortable bed and good shower, I could make food and enjoy it in comfort and (excellent benefit) do laundry to be prepared for my onward journey. The hosts were gracious and helpful in all ways.
The property offers limited free off-street parking but also has free non restricted parking in the two adjacent streets and frequent bus services to the center pass the property regularly.
