Everything….Room was spacious, well appointed, clean. Pleasant helpful staff. Great location given we are traversing the UK via rail and not doing any driving.

The building is beautiful — both exterior and interior. Location is perfect (close to the sights + easy to get to the station, but not too noisy or touristy)
Staff was friendly. Restaurant was good. Nice pantry concept where you could get snacks (sadly, the door on the freezer had been left slightly open so ice creams were melted).
It seemed like there was good air conditioning, which wasn't that big of a deal for us but could be great during a hot summer day.
Brompton's that guests could borrow were fun to use, but regular bikes might have been slightly better (given the condition of the roads around York).
Set in secluded gardens, Clementine's Guest House, has free WiFi and characterful rooms. Clementine's Guest House.

It was fun but the actors sometimes put on such a thick accent we couldn't understand them. If you have a camera in hand be warned that in one location you could get sprayed with water so protect your camera.

The location was ideal for what we wanted. Just outside the city wall and within walking distance of many of the attractions like the Jorvik Viking Centre, Castle Museum, Military Museum, and York Dungeon and the other side of the city wall is a stop for the Hop on hop off sightseeing bus. Plenty of places nearby for having a drink / eating out.
