It’s easy to see how the rolling green countryside around Lake Windermere inspired Beatrix Potter’s beloved children’s stories. As you wander the rural paths from the ferry to the author’s quaint Hill Top farmhouse, you can picture her cute characters bounding from field to vegetable patch in search of mischief. For post-walk refreshments, nip next door to the charming Tower Bank Arms.
