Location was spot on. Climbed Scafell Pike Saturday so stayed the night before. Breakfast hit the spot for the big climb. Views from the beer garden were second to none.
Only stayed for one night for a spontaneous trip to climb Scafell Pike. Great for a short stay, no frills walkers hostel. Everything you need including kitchen, however very basic facilities. Beautiful, peaceful location.
We had a great stay at Forest How. The location was ideally suited for walking Scafell Pike. The owners were super friendly and we really appreciated their understanding of the traffic which meant we arrived late. They were also very friendly with our dog. Breakfast was lovely and it's wonderful watching the wildlife in the garden while you eat in the conservatory. The view from our room was also excellent.
The room was soo lovely and cosy . We had a beautiful Mountain View . All the staff are all welcoming and helpful . Food was amazing (especially the homemade pie ) lovely area to have a drink at the bar . Definitely would stay again . Great location for us doing Scafell pike .
Brilliant location in the heart of the Lake District, 35 min drive from Scafell Pike car park.
My room was immaculately clean, with huge bathroom.
My dog was welcomed to the hotel.
The dining room had amazing facilities so I could cook my meals the way I do it at home. It’s also spacious and very clean.
I so much enjoyed staying in this place, thanks a lot to the owners for offering such great facilities!
I’ll definitely return again!
The hotel was perfect for scafell pike. Great food served in the pub in the evening. Great breakfast in the morning too. All staff were welcoming and pleasant. The twin room was perfect for a night. Definitely recommend.
we chose this property as it was close to scafell pike which we planned to walk the following day.
it was a lovely stay, the bar meal and breakfast were great, all of the staff were seen to be really hard working. the room was very comfortable. it isn’t perhaps as swish as some other hotels have upgraded their fixtures and fittings too in recent years but couldn’t we complain about the stay, and the value for money was great. thanks to all of the staff.
