everything. Everyone was great, so kind and helpful. The Inn and rooms were amazing, we loved it all. We were greeted by Joe, who could not have been nicer, welcoming us and our dog. And our room was spotless, comfortable, beautifully decorated, with a huge, cosy bed. There was plenty of space for our huge dog and her bed, the bathroom was spacious, sparkling clean and well fitted out. We had dinner there, it was delicious, as was ou breakfast. This was the best place we have ever stayed in, and we travel a lot. And it is very reasonably priced for what you get, which is so much.We will definitely return. Thank you so much for your kindness, and for giving us such a great stay.

The 1-hour tour was worth the money (£13.00) to see the interior and the beautiful grounds. Our guide, Claire, was informative, friendly and knowledgeable. Our visit took us to part of the castle (around 6 or 7 rooms) as it is still the home of the family so there is not full access to the whole building. However, each room was stuffed with interesting things which Claire explained the use of (for example, a tea serving box, gambling chair, a bi-corn hat and carry case, a wine boat, a fire guard, and lots of weapons). Note: Photos are not allowed inside which is a shame as there is a lot to see for such as small building.

The village of Ripley. albeit tiny, is very pretty and the hotel is well placed for visiting Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Pateley Bridge, Ripon, Harrogate & Knaresborough. Staff were absolutely lovely, it's dog friendly and you can take breakfast and dinner in the bar. As for the food, it was delicious and good sized portions - grateful after a long day walking without snacks! We would definitely recommend it. As a guest you get free entry to Ripley Castle gardens too!

Next door to Ripley Castle which has a lovely walking/cycling route all the way round. Bus stops right outside the property which comes very frequent to get to Harrogate, Ripon or even towards Leeds. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided and other items topped up (coffee, biscuits, bottled water). Staff were very pleasant. Also free entry to the Castle though it is only open 10-2 so never had a chance to take a look around the grounds.
