Hotel was easy enough to find using Satnav. Friendly welcome and easy check in. We were given a thermos flask with fresh milk for teas and coffees (real coffee in a tin with coffee pot) in the room. The twin room was clean and pleasantly decorated. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water.
We had the full English breakfast which was very good but we could have our pick off the breakfast menu which had a good variety of different dishes. The sourdough toast with proper butter was a nice touch.
Had a lovely chat with Amanda the manageress who was very friendly and informative. Would happily stay here again and would look to stay at other boutique hotels in the Butcombe Pubs and Inns group.

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay at Castle Lodge.
Large, comfortable, clean rooms, free parking, friendly hosts and a delicious breakfast made this a very enjoyable stay.
Highcliffe castle and Highcliffe beach are a short walk away which is an added bonus.
As we were going to a wedding Friday evening, the owners kindly accommodated our request for a slightly earlier check-in which was very much appreciated.
I would highly recommend Castle Lodge to anyone wishing to visit this part of Dorset.
We stayed here for our son’s wedding at Highcliffe Castle and hosted lunches & afternoon tea at the Upper Deck restaurant and The Jetty. ALL the staff were fantastic….incredibly helpful & professional at all times and the food was fabulous! Thoroughly recommend the hotel and will definitely be back!
The location of the hotel is great with the beach just a short walk away through the grounds of Highcliffe Castle. Bournemouth is not far by car and you can walk to local shops. The hotel room was comfortable and spacious with a nice bathroom
