Very helpful staff when we arrived too early to check in. The period building was lovely, with a lounge, library and bar, and a huge dining room. The breakfast had lots of choice - a buffet table with cereals, cheese/ham, pastries, fresh bread and Prosecco! And there was a hot menu too. The room was warm, with a big bed and TV, a fantastic shower and toiletries, and lovely views.

Edinburgh Castle
Stretching down 30 metres, this tree-like coral shelf lies at the centre of a beautiful garden of gorgonians. It’s in these plants that the rare pygmy seahorse sets up home, which makes Amed Wall your best shot of catching a glimpse. Reef sharks and sea turtles also roam these waters, so there’s no shortage of deep-sea wonders to gawk at.

Love it!
Love it! Took us longer than anticipated to walk around due to the crowds, in September. We pre-purchased out tickets for 11 a.m. thinking we'd end with the 1 p.m. gun salute. However, earlier crowds were still there at 11 a.m. and it just got busier and busier. It became tough to really enjoy the exhibits and the interior rooms got quite warm (it was wet the day we were there so we were carrying jackets). There were also lines to get into various spaces. When we left at 2 p.m. the line ups to get in were wild and I can't imagine what their experience would have been like.
I would highly recommend getting your tickets in advance for the earlier time slots, if you really want to enjoy the exhibits around the castle.

Not the most interesting castle. Fabulous views of the city.
Not the most interesting castle. Fabulous views of the city. Most of the interior has been stripped. The Crown jewels were absolutely nothing compared to The Tower of London exhibition. Very unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies all cobbles and slopes. Difficult with a stick. All in all a bit of a tourist trap all around the area.

We saw Edinburgh Castle on our last trip but there is always something new to see. Look for the room with the tapestries hanging from the wall - they took 13.5 years to complete. Missed that last time. There is a lot to see.

This was my second time visiting Edinburgh Castle. The first time I did an audio tour and this time signed up for a guided tour. Both work, but the tour lead by a guide was really great, though more expensive.

During our visit, there was an event happening close to the castle. The infrastructure took them more that two weeks to disassemble so the main route to the castle was blocked during our entire visit and it wasn't possible to see the main entrance. Moreover, many locals told us the trip inside they castle is a bit overhyped.

Our stay at the apartment was comfortable. There was plenty of room and the kitchen was well stocked. It also has a nice view of the Edinburgh Castle as a bonus! The apartment is in a great location in Grassmarket close to plenty of restaurants and pubs.
Very friendly, welcoming and approachable staff. Amazing location in the West End, a very safe neighbourhood. Close to the city centre, which is walkable (about 20-30 min or via public transport). The breakfast was really good and the room and building very beautiful. I had a room on the second floor overlooking Edinburgh castle. For breakfast, there are a lot of options include warm savoury options that will be prepared fresh after you order with no addition cost. Again, my compliments to the staff!!
Localization is well placed and very cool, gives a beautiful walk experience from dislocation for any other city point, very near to the Edinburgh castle and from local bar and restaurants. Nice organization of hostel areas. Good breakfast, with enough variations. I recommend this place
The central location was perfect. I had direct access to Holyrood Park, and was only 10 minutes from the university campus. It was a quick walk to the Edinburgh Castle and other central attractions.
The property was exceptionally spotless, cozy, and hygiene is 5 star.Simon was very helpful with any questions we had. We will certainly comeback and I highly recommend it to everyone. Parking is free and hassle-free, and it's conveniently located near the main tourist attractions in the city center.
We just park at the property and catched taxi to Edinburgh castle and walk through all the tourist spots very convenient and worthy for the price .
I booked this for my wives birthday and the staff pulled out every stop to ensure we had a wonderful time. The view of edinburgh castle is spectacular and seeing it all lit up at night was incredible we could've stayed in the room all day and night looking at it, will definitely be back again hopefully in the near future
Loved the location it was easily accessible to Princes Street, The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle.
Waverley train station was a short walk away.
Really convenient
Great place to stay with a larger group with all facilities in really good condition and clean. The ensuite had underfloor heating that made the stay a little lux.
All beds were really comfortable too! The PIN code to enter the building and apartment was really great with a larger group. Amazing views of Edinburgh castle and made the overall experience extra special.
Lovely comfortable hotel, perfect location with amazing view of Edinburgh Castle and Greyfriars. Washer/drier handy. Very helpful building manager who kindly carried our luggage up to the 4th floor.
We loved staying here. The rooms were very nice, spacious, modern and comfortable. Excellent location, walking distance to the main attractions in Edinburgh ie. Edinburgh castle, royal mile, Arthur’s seat etc. A bonus was the complimentary Mini bar!
