The pub is charming and steeped in history. The light arrangement in the stairwell and the second bar are beautiful and cleverly executed. The green bedroom was so tranquil, modern and offered lovely views over the Dart. I can’t say enough about the well appointed bathroom. It was all great! The staff were an absolute joy. Helpful and jovial and the locals were met were equally really nice people.

The breakfast choice was excellent and the service first class. The breakfast room and garden had a fabulous view of the harbour entrance and Dartmouth Castle. Great way to start the day!
The property was really clean, comfortable and warm. All the rooms were well equipped and looked lovely. The views from the living room and bedroom are fantastic. We had a wet day when there but enjoyed the excuse to sit and just enjoy the view. The parking is easy in the local car park and very close to the house. Lots of places to eat and drink in town and we enjoyed visiting Dartmouth Castle and Sugar Cove as well as Hope Cove. A really relaxing and comfortable stay.
Loved how clean the property was and how cosy. The host Sheena gave us all the info we needed to make the stay a success. Coastal walks and Dartmouth Castle, Dartmouth pubs and great shops. Whats not to love?!
Free parking space outside the door was perfect.
Location was very convenient, everywhere was in walking distance! Dartmouth has a great range of shops, cafes, restaurants all in keeping with its historic setting. Dartmouth castle and the ferry to Kingswear are moments away by foot.
An excellent breakfast, variations from the menu were available also. The location is perfect with good views in the front rooms across the river dart. It is centrally located within easy walking of all the town. Good links to buses and ferries. Some good walks also, the walk to Dartmouth Castle takes about 30 minutes and there is an excellent ferry from there back to the town.
Location was excellent and as we managed to get parked we used all the local transport to get to steam train & Paignton (ferry from pier) Brixham (bus from Kingswere) and pleasant walk to Dartmouth Castle with small boat ferry back to pier (passing the Mermaid). Would also recommend walking on to Berry Head Hotel in Brixham to enjoy a drink or lunch in their garden overlooking the bay.
