The hotel is located in the very center of Chester. Don’t be put off by the outside, it is so welcoming on the I side. We brought our dog and they really are a very dog friendly hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you have a car then parking is right by the hotel.

Great family day out- race day ticket gave admission to either the grandstand area or the centre of the course which has seating, raised viewing points and picnic tables along the fence beside the winning post- with lots of choices for food and drinks available close by.

Mixed feelings.
Mixed feelings. The cheaper side of the course allowed us to use WiFi but no other facilities.
The nicer side which is what we paid for, blocks 3/4/5G so you are forced to use their tote to place bets.
The tote don't provide odds so you really have no idea what you are getting if you win. Won't be returning any time soon.

I love walking around the city walls, and looking over the racecourse - when it's hosting events. Years ago, I went to an evening race meeting and it rained, spoiling much enjoyment. Not such a fan of horse racing now (2023) but still love the views from the city walls.

Had a bad experience there early on in the year, it was very over crowded far to many people were let it to the point of saftey issues , seating was minimal as were toilet facilities, we had to leave an hour and a half into arriving because we didnt feel safe therefore we will not be paying chester races a visit again , it was obvious they were just letting people in for the profit side of it and not the safety of its punters
