It's a big let down to be honest.

It's a big let down to be honest. Where's the information about where the tapestry could have been made? How was it made? Tell us about the women who made it. Tell us about Odo and his relationship with Bayeux. Who were the actors in the tapestry such as Edward, Harold and William? But most importantly of all, I think it's misleading to say that Edward sent Harold (probably the most powerful man in England after the King at that time) to tell William he was his heir? Where's the evidence for that outside the tapestry? There isn't any. It's such a shame because we went to Battle earlier in the year and it told the story from multiple perspectives and it was a much richer and insightful experience. The museum in Bayeux only gives one disputed version of events; it could explain things better and in a more interactive way. Massive disappointment.

Absolutley brilliant, have visited twice and just love it. Recommend getting there as early as possible. Tip: you can buy a ticket in advance which is valid for a full year. So it's easy to buy it on the day you arrive then turn up the next morning at opening time to avoid the crowds.

    Incredible.

Incredible. The explanation of the history before you see the tapestry is very well explained and laid out well before you go into seeing the tapestry itself. If you like history it is really worth going. We spent hours there.

    Great!

Great! Probably the only place you can see an almost 1,000 year-old tapestry. The display is very nice; the audio is correlated with where you are standing so you get an explanation of what you are seeing. But hurry, they are going to close it for a couple of years to upgrade the exhibit space. it will not be available for awhile.
