The city’s central square and one of Valladolid’s most-visited attractions, Plaza Mayor was the model for many other main squares throughout the former Spanish Empire. Presided over by a statue of Count Ansúrez, the 16th-century plaza is adorned with many historic buildings, including the imposing Town Hall and clock tower.
