Visit Gibralfaro first as it's on the hilltop and walk down to Alcazaba - this makes the stroll much easier than what many the opposite, that many tourists do. Also take Uber or bus 35 to reach Gibralfaro rather than walking up the hill.

Alcazaba is probably worth seeing, but I did not think it was wonderful. It consists of a bunch of mostly empty rooms and areas. The layout is quite confusing, with lots of turns; it is deliberately confusing for defensive purposes according to our guide. The guide was not very good. She had clearly memorized a speech and got confused by questions.

Worth the visit.
Worth the visit. Less well know that it's big brother in Granada but very impressive and worth the visit. Really help to do your homework and get an understanding of the time & context of when the building was in use in order to understand how far ahead of the curve the Moorish occupation of southern Spain was & how they sparked the enlightenment period across Europe.

This and the Gibralfaro make a good day out. We recommend taking food and a lot of drink. The Alcazaba has wonderful Islamis architecture, and lots of good viewpoints.
The Gibralfaro is a stiff climb, but worth the effort.

It was the perfect size for 1 person who is out all day seeing the sights. It had great water pressure for my showers. It had a comfy daybed and loft bed. It had tons of towels. It was right next to la plaza de la Merced and picassos birthplace. I walked everywhere since it was close to the cathedral and the Alcazaba. It was very close to a supermarket and restaurants.
Very spacious room. Close to Málaga train and bus stations (15 minutes walking), also in walking distance to the Alcazaba, Gibralfaro, Cathedral and the port (but be prepared to walk!)
Bathroom is small but functional
Large bed with a good mattress and pillows. Didnt listen to any noise from neighbors. In general, very comfortable
The best thing about this hotel is its location, right by the Alcazaba! We had a nice view of it from our room. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were really comfortable.
I really liked the property well-equipped, calm, and clean. What I truly loved was the location. It’s right in the center, surrounded by bars, restaurants, shops, and close to landmarks like the cathedral, Alcazaba, and the Picasso Museum. Plus, it’s only 15 minutes away from the beach (Muelle Uno, Malagueta).

Location was excellent, although on a busy street. Lots of restaurants nearby, 25 mins walk to Malaga beach, pretty well next door to the Castillo De Gibralfaro and Alcazabar historic sites. Roof top pool was fun, but always crowded!
Fantastic stay in the heart of Málaga’s Old Town! The hotel’s location is perfect, with charming streets, shops, and restaurants right on the doorstep, and major attractions like the Picasso Museum and Alcazaba just a short walk away.
The flat's location is absolutely fantastic, being close to all major attractions. It's just a 3-5 minute walk to the Picasso Museum, Málaga Amphitheatre, and the Alcazaba, and it is situated right next to the main cathedral of Málaga. Additionally, it's only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. The host is very kind and supportive, and the flat itself is comfortable and very cozy. It is also close to shopping streets, cafes, and restaurants. Definitely the best choice in Málaga.
