We had only one day in Hamburg and used it to “Christmas out” - with almost no effort, we visited 7 Christmas markets and enjoyed the lights which line nearly every street.
Something that applies all year, though also had a special Christmas touch, was the Miniatur Wunderland (the world’s largest model train set). We could have easily spent a day in there.

The transport system is really good, easy to use and very cheap. We bought a daily group travel pass which covered S-bahn, U-Bahn, buses and ferries and covered up to 5 people for a cost of euro 13.
We stayed three nights, specifically for the xmas markets, but there are lots of other things during the day. The Elbphilharmonie is good for a high viewpoint over the city and is free. The shopping around the center near the Rathouse is good and the Isemarkt, longest market in Europe, is an interesting place for a wander. Four days is a good length for a stay.

Reception is manned 24 hours a day.
Is a few minutes walk to central station.
Fantastic hotel is a great location! The old warehouses of Hamburg are a veritable feast of bars, restaurants, cafe's and museum's. Then a short walk over one of the many bridges, and you're quickly in Hamburg's main centre.
Lovely hotel bar too!
Lovely old school building tastefully and thoughtfully renovated into hotel. Echoes of its past in some unobtrusive corners . : )
Great location too, nearby 2 x U bahn stops. V handy to reach Hamburg city centre yet slightly out so quieter.
Nothing particular in general. I am a regular customer at Leonardo, but this one is not as good as the other Leonardo hotels in Germany, or even the other one in Hamburg Nord. It's maybe okay as a stop in transit, as you can relax in sauna.
The hotel is new and shiny, apart from size of the room and my experience with coffee machine, I think everything perfect.
There are really good restaurant in a walking distance, best sushi I had in Germany in Madame Mai Hamburg.
