Located in Lübeck’s old town, this Brick Gothic church is a symbol of prosperity and power. During an air raid in 1942, the church caught fire, causing the bells to crash to the floor. The broken bells remain on the ground in the South Tower to this day. The church also boasts one of the largest mechanical organs in the world, with 8,512 pipes.
