This was my second time to stay at Physis Caribbean, and it continues to be amazing. Juliet and Matt do such a wonderful job of making you feel like you’re at home when you stay with them. From the zen-like feel of the outdoor common areas with all of the living greenery and water fountains to the amazing cooked to order breakfast in the morning, Physis is a welcoming retreat in Cocles. The location is amazing being just a few meters/feet from 3 grocery stores, several great restaurants and of course the beautiful Playa Cocles is just a 5 minute walk away. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

The wildlife and garden was beautiful, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating and they made our trip so much more special. The breakfast was perfect and the location was close to some great restaurants and a gorgeous beach.

The place feels magical! Hidden in the rainforest, next to a beautiful beach. Saw many sloths and toucans every morning at breakfast. Staff was incredible, very thoughtful and very knowledgeable of the animals which makes it even more fun. Alejandro was the best!!! We really hope to be back very soon.

The Center is doing amazing work and is very well run.
The Center is doing amazing work and is very well run. They are helping hundreds of animals get released back into the wild each year and are trying to help prevent electrical injuries to wildlife by paying to replace electrical wires with safer ones throughout their habitat in CR.

Excellent and informative guide - do support if in the area...
Excellent and informative guide - do support if in the area they are doing important work but do book online in advance if possible. We were unable to get tickets when we just walked in so had to revisit and fortunately had the time - others didn't and missed out.

GO HERE! Omg, this is probably one of my highlight during my trip. The guide's are soo enthusiastic about their work. At least the Ducth guy! :) He had so many jokes and interesting stories to tell. Really worth all of the money, cos you will never get this close to any of the animals in real life.

I’m always super artful about “animal tourism” which is often dubious. This place is a true animal welfare and rehabilitation centre that is all about the animals. Excellent knowledgable guides who place animal welfare and recovery at the top of the agenda

Hosts are amazing - very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Location is perfect - close to Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, and Manzanillo; walking distance to Jaguar Rescue Center; and monkeys, cool butterflies, awesome plants, and cool birds right off the deck. Walking distance to Plays Cocles. Very quiet and plenty of space. Washer & dryer super helpful.
The cottage is located very close to a very nice quiet beach. It was also relatively convenient to the supermarkets, restaurants, the Jaguar rescue center,etc..
Beautiful location, right on the beach, wonderful landscaping. Very relaxing, lots of coral and we were able to snorkel right outside our hotel. The Jaguar Rescue Center was right across the street. There was an abundance of wildlife all around.

beautiful everywhere! sloths on the property! lovely pools! across the street from the beach and only a five minute drive to the Jaguar Rescue center! really great breakfast. the restaurant next door, Sol de Caribe, was amazing too.
Beautiful place, Almud and Luis are very kind. They helped very much with arranging our shuttle reservations, and how to get to the Jaguar Rescue center as well as all the beaches and restaurants. We hope to return soon!
