This well preserved BuddhaZen hotel is located in a traditional courtyard style building, situated in the Wenshu Square tourist attraction within the First Ring Road, adjacent to Tianfu Square,...

The hotel is beautiful, with an inner courtyard which is nicely decorated. The room was very spacious and had an ample terrace. The location is fantastic, very close to Wenshu monastery and to the subway station. The staff at the front desk did not speak English but were extremely kind and helpful. They booked the Panda Centre tickets for us, as well as a show for the traditional Sichuan theatre.

The staffs when out of their way to help the hotel guests, when we hire a vehicle with the apps and the driver gone to the wrong pick up location, the staff help us contact the driver and even went out the hotel entrance to look for our ride. Since we have 5 pieces of luggage’s, three staffs came out of the hotel to help us load it to the vehicle. During our stay the concierge help us to make all our dinner and site seeing reservations. The cleaning lady even leave us a note after cleaning our room to welcome us and fulfill our request, a thumbs up to all the hotel staffs and we would like to stay in this hotel whenever we come back to Chengdu!

    This was our main reason for visiting Chengdu.

    This was our main reason for visiting Chengdu. We took a taxi from the hotel to the Panda Research Station (less than $10 each way) and joined the lines to enter. At the entrance, we found that Seniors have free admission (not just Chinese Seniors) so I showed a photo ID and we were in. The crowds were reasonable and being "independent travelers" we were able to find viewing spaces between the tour groups. The Pandas were all active when we visited mid morning and easy to get to via well paved paths which wound around a steep hill side to the Panda Nursery at the top. The baby Pandas were sleeping but some moving around in the "cots" Very cute and photogenic.
