The rooms are fantastic. The staff were just perfect.
Built to commemorate Emperor Constantine’s victory at the battle of Milvian Bridge, this majestic marble structure is the empire’s largest surviving triumphal arch, looming at 21 metres high. Dating back to 315 AD, many of its features are even older, with panels repurposed from the time of Emperor Hadrian’s rule almost 200 years earlier. Even the statue of Constantine himself is secondhand – with its original face resculpted to look like him instead!
