Skanderbeg Square
Soon, this will be an impressive focal point for the city again. Right now, though, it's just a huge construction site. So skirt round it, being careful of the traffic, to visit the National History Museum or catch a performance at the National Theatre. Or climb the clock tower to view the work in progress and the equestrian statue of national hero, Skanderbeg.

I've given it a smiley face less to do with the attractions and more because its an important point from a route planning pov partly as the central buses collect there including to Bunkart, the cable car etc. Although the old mosque, bunkart 2 and the main eating district are located there.

This is lovely and a must for Tirana.
This is lovely and a must for Tirana. This is the main hero of Albania. It's a really quaint square with a carrousel. You can get to all points in the center from here. I recommend the restaurant pastaria.

This was the centre of the universe during our visit.
This was the centre of the universe during our visit. While we were in Tirana they were setting up a fun fair for the Christmas season. It was also during the football world cup, so they set up a giant screen and fanscene. We watched an England game with some local young men, very friendly and respectful.

The Square has been "remodeled" over the past 5 years. It's attractive, Listening to 1 of the talented traditional music who play there was a high point of our visit. The Libraria Adrion Bookstore next to the Opera House is wonderful, and has a good selection of books in Italian, German, and English for visitors,
Everything was perfect, the host is very kind. The apartment is completely renovated and brand new, it was a pleasure to stay here. Skanderbeg Square is only a 4-minute walk away
Ease of access was great. Location was great, a short walk to Skanderbeg square. View from the terrace is cool! The apartment was clean and cozy and the host was responsive and helpful. We had a great time in Tirana and this apartment was an excellent home base to facilitate that.
In terms of price and location. The hostel is conveniently situated near many coffee shops, with a supermarket just outside the gate. It's only a 15-minute walk to Skanderbeg Square and quite easy to find.
New hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms. Hotel was easy walk to Skanderbeg square. You are allow to use the hotel spa for free one hour a day , But need to reserve your time. English speaking and friendly front desk.

Very highly recommend staying at Red Goat! Lora is an amazing host. She’s friendly, knowledgeable and informative. Lots to recommend if you ask. The hostel is very clean and I felt comfortable in the dorm. Drinking water available for guests. Freshly made breakfast in the morning is a tasty bonus. The hostel is located in a quiet area and is approx 10 minutes walk to Skanderbeg square. Wonderful hostel to stay when arriving in Tirana or if you’re spending a few days before departing. This is where I’ll be staying when I come to Tirana.
The hotel location was good. It's a nice 15 minute stroll from the main Skanderbeg Square. It's on a touristy street so walking around felt safe. There's a busy restaurant attached to the hotel so it's busy until closing. The restaurant food is good and the servers are friendly. The room was comfortable and kept clean.
Albana welcomed us warmly in her pretty and big apartment (2 rooms + 2 bathrooms, big living room and well equipped kitchen). Everything was clean. Skanderbeg square is 15-20 min away walking. Public transport is close. Parking on the street, safe area.
The size of the apartment was excellent and furnished to a good standard. Bed, linen and towels good quality and location was a seven minute walk to Skanderbeg Square. Our apartment host was always available to ask questions if needed and was very helpful.
It's right in the city center (literally 5-10min walk from Skanderbeg square); the host was very friendly and helpful, helping us with our suitcases (since there is no elevator) and even gave us many recommendations of where to go and what to do in Tirana;
The room was new and clean with everything you need; The view from our room was quite nice;
The host is fast to respond when you need something (might not be as guaranteed in Albania as you might think)
Wifi was probably the fastest we've had in a week (4 different accommodations)
Clean, spacious, comfortable, fully equipped apartment in a new residential building. Elevator and balcony available. The underground parking lot is a huge plus (finding a parking place in Tirana is a big issue). Very friendly and helpful landlady.
The apartment location is very good, 25 minutes walking till Tirana Skanderbeg Square. Coffee shops, restaurants and markets nearby. Highly recommended.
