Well-designed rooms / tents with outdoor showers which we loved. Very good food, dinner as well as breakfast. Very nice staff and owner. Just good to know that it is quite a long drive (approx. 12 km) from the main road to the lodge which needs time. Zebras and other animals are walking nearby, in particular at breakfast time. Great!

The property is beautiful. You don’t see a lot of other cars around which makes the game drives very special. We had some really amazing sightings (thanks Hannes!) including leopards, lions and a herd of buffalo moving to water whilst we waited for them in the watch tower with beers in hand.

We enjoyed our stay from day 1 until the last day , game drives , quad biking ,spa we enjoyed so much . Very clean environment and friendly staff . We had our dinner at Spur it was excellent , service was excellent too. Area easy to drive around .

Small town but with a great location between the Blyde River Canyon and Kruger and other private reserves. Really benefits from the local airport (a fun experience in itself) and the ability to fly directly from Johannesburg and hire a car.

From Hoedspruit, you have several activities to do. For example, you can drive the panorama route by car or go to Kruger Park on safari for a day.
In the village, you have some organisations proposing different excursions.
Blyde River Dam is less than an hour away, where you can do a boat trip and see the Blyde River Canyon from a different angle.
For those who like to get a closer look at wildlife, you should make a stop at Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. There you can witness the volunteer work where wild animals are cared for and released back into the wild.

Hoedspruit has a good selection of supermarkets for the self catering traveller. There are a number of great coffee shops and restaurants in the town and a variety of activities offered for day trips by adventure or safari companies. Some quirky curio / gift stores with a variety of goods on offer and some fabulous day spa options. Most travellers are self drive or have private transport booked but there was a local taxi service advertised on a notice board at the Kamogelo Tourism Centre if you get stuck.

Hoedspruit is indeed a tourist destination. Restaurants are in abundance. We enjoyed our dinners at The Hat and Creek restaurant. The town is bordered by the Kruger National Park. Access to the KNP is easy.

The biggest purpose of staying at this hotel was the game safari.
The game safari experience was amazing.
I met several cheetahs and leopards, which are said to be difficult to see.
I was able to meet other animals at such a distance that I could actually feel their breathing.
Respect and gratitude to the team of drivers and navigators for their professional work in guiding us on our game safari.
The cottage is peaceful, private , tranquil and very well set out. Everything one needs for self catering is provided.
Obviously you bring your own food and drinks.
It’s lovely to see giraffe, zebra and other animals wander through the area.
Kimberley is an exceptional host.
Clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you might need. Amazing location. Aircon and WiFi were a bonus. First timers in Hoedspruit and can’t wait to come back to this beautiful small town and cottage.
