We only stayed 2 nights but we had a fantastic time wandering round the old quarter, particularly at night.
The night market and beer street are a must visit.
Be prepared though as it is very busy and dodging scooters becomes 2nd nature.

good links to travel to places like Ha Long Bay. I'd recommend Happy Travel shop for booking experiences and sim cards. We used them for our sim cards and didnt have a single problem for a month. Additionally for a day tour to Ha Long Bay as well as a 4 day trip around Hai Giang Loop.

Plenty of local street food places to eat.
Getting around on Grab bikes or walking was my preferred method of transport.

We did a 2 day and 1 night boat trip in the Bay......it was fantastic! Beautiful scenery, nice people and very relaxing! Activities and food were nice.. I recommend doing this if you visit Hanoi.. I wish we could have spent more time exploring Vietnam!

Get yourself a private guide and driver. Fantastic way to see the city and outer city. And not expensive.
I used Saigon Tourist, and they were fantastic.
The location is the best. Though its in the heart of old quarter,hanoi and a mere 2-10 mins away from everywhere you might want to go, the hotel keeps a quite environment. You can sleep soundly away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. The hotel is very clean. The staffs are also very accomodating,friendly and reliable.You can also request for a pick up shuttle from the airport at a reasonable price .
This hotel is truly a breadth of fresh air in the old quarter. The staff has been exemplary - Lana arranged some fantastic tours for me .. Jimmy, William, Anne were great in giving me a very personal service too. The hotel is very clean and you can even get all your laundry done at a great price each day. If you are looking to see Hanoi and Vietnam I wouldn’t book anywhere else… very pleased!!
Everything, the breakfast buffet is good have lots of varieties everyday, the location is the best, we can walk around old quarter and still find everything near the hotel. The staff are very nice, they also help us a lot especially in booking our transfers. I highly recommended this to my friends that are visiting Hanoi.
