Hat Yai is not pedestrian friendly, so walking about can be its own adventure with whizzing bikes/cars on narrow lanes. Weather is also not conducive for outdoor activity during the daytime, but night time weather is great (when it's not raining).
The tuktuk are touts where you have to nego a rate as long as you're not a local - unlike Chiangmai where you can just jump on/off for standard rates. Best to take Grab if your group is small, honestly.
Most markets are over-rated; fashion wise are more for short/tiny/skinny women; more options for men. Central Mall is awesome because it has two THB10 shops, which made this place cheaper than their markets! Their food court is also extensive, and cheaper than/comparable to eating at the markets too.
Massage centre galour in the central Hat Yai town where plenty of massage outlets are located - I recommend Sense Massage Odean for those who prefer deep tissue technique.

Hatyai shopping at its best! I highly recommend Green Way for a fantastic shopping experience and Beautrium in Hatyai Central Mall for all your makeup needs. While Lee Garden's massage services were satisfactory, I think separate male and female rooms would take it to the next level. Definitely worth checking out!

Always use a google translator when communicating with the locals as their English is not as advanced in other states eg. Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya. Its very easy to get around using Grab. The places of interest are actually nearby each other. I recommend ASEAN Night Market for Clothing shopping instead of Lee Gardens night market as they have few varieties. Lee Gardens is very good for street food and most massage outlets are located around Lee Gardens. The food served in restaurants are served fresh, tasty and cheap. You should go for it. For Malls, you can visit Central Hatyai which is huge and comes with a big Game Centre.

HatYai sadly has become way too touristy - and specially for Malaysian tourists.
The street food is no longer traditional Thai street food, it caters for Malaysians. You get nasi lemak, ramli's burger etc which is not something you'd want when in Thailand.
The hotel's location is very strategic as it's situated at Hatyai train station. It's still located in Hatyai Downtown and within walking distance to tourist attractions like Kim Yong Market, Lee Gardens, and others. The hotel's price is very reasonable. The rooms are equipped with various facilities. The air conditioning is cold, the water heater works well. There are also amenities like WiFi, a mini fridge, and others. The terrace is spacious. The front desk staff are also friendly and helpful.
The hotel located at the center of city. We arrive around 1130am (Thai time), and staff give us early check in. The hotel also very near to Hat Yai Train Station (450m), no need to take tuktuk. But, if you want take tuktuk, only 150B. The hotel close with the Lee Garden Night market (250m), Kai Tod Decha famous restaurant (250m), 7e and other restaurant, so easy for us to find food and Jalan-Jalan cari makan. Also have Thai Massage and Spa nearby.
The location is near Lee Garden. I went to the hotel by walking from Alisan Office where my bus from TBS station bus. It's very strategic place to stay at and I'm quite satisfied with the cleanliness of the room. The hotel looks simple from the outside however the room is a great place to sleep. They provide towels and iron (only until 6pm) for guests to use. Will certainly stay here again if I come to Hatyai. Keep up the good work!
Courteous reception, away fr d city hustle n bustle unlike Lee Garden area u probably hear lots of noise, room is clean n with balcony .I like rooms without carpet. King size bed which is great for 2A /1C. Makro, Central Festival Mall, Asean Night Bazaar n Greenway Night Mkt is jz nearby. Hotel provide shuttle service to selected areas n as well as pick up. Stay here if u hv car. I dont mind to stay here again in future
Siam Mansion was a lovely little find in Hat Yai. Perfect for a couple or groups as there was dorm rooms too. Good cafes and restaurants very close to the property. very central for tourist attractions.
