Honored by Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, one of the holiest mosques in Islam, Medina is the 2nd most important Islamic pilgrimage site after Mecca. Surrounded by hills that have seen hundreds of people seek refuge in its oasis, this city has developed a range of modern facilities to host the pilgrims from all over the world.
Formerly named Yathrib, Medina is affectionately known as both the "Prophet’s City" and the "Radiant City". The Prophet Muhammad came to the city in the 7th century, seeking refuge from his opponents. According to Muslim theology, the last chapters of the Quran were revealed to him here.
The site where the Prophet lived is now occupied by the Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi or "Prophet’s Mosque". Although the mosque has changed and expanded over the years, the green dome is part of the original sanctuary.
Places like the Masjid Quba mosque, the Masjid Al-Qiblatain mosque and the Al-Baqi Cemetery also represent important holy sites in Medina.
Whether you arrive directly at Medina’s Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport or come from Mecca or Riyadh, check out the accommodation deals on Booking.com before traveling.

The receptionist displayed blatantly discriminatory...
The receptionist displayed blatantly discriminatory behaviour. Upon my arrival at the reception, after riding a motorcycle for over 500 km, he seemed visibly angry with me. I believe this was due to my appearance and the fact that I did not speak Arabic. There were no instructions on the booking to indicate that the property was exclusively for Arabic-speaking guests or restricted to specific nationalities.
The receptionist was extremely rude, even gesturing for me to leave, which was both unprofessional and unacceptable. I strongly believe that it is the minimum expectation for receptionists to have a basic understanding of English and to be willing to accommodate guests regardless of their language or background.
One of the other staff members at the hotel, who spoke English, kindly assisted me in completing the check-in process. If it hadn’t been for their help, I could have faced more serious issue.

Beautiful masjid of the last Prophet.
Beautiful masjid of the last Prophet.
Gates at the back of the masjid on both wings are designated for women and the middle, front has entrances for men. Upstairs is also designated to men. The whole grounds is flat for easy for wheelchairs.
The grounds are huge and there is a planned extension of the masjid to the west side, where the older red carpets are laid out.
After fajr the graveyard Jannat Ul Baqi is opened up, which contains the resting place of the Prophet's family.

I was shifted to another property by the concerned as some maintenance work was on in Bosphorus Two. This was Waqaf Saifi hotel Bosphorus. It was a change for the best .Everything was up to the mark. The room was large and comfortable along with bathroom..The staff was so good and responsive. The location was also very comfortable. Overall a fantastic ambience ,one would like to visit again and again. If I happen to be in Madinah again ,I will prefer to stay there without looking for another hotel.
Great hotel and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. They would do their best to achieve all your needs and offer you the best solutions. I loved everything about it and I had a great view. I would definitely be back to Madinah to the same hotel. In room dining was the best you would imagine.
It's one of the best hotel in the surrounding of Masjid Nabwi.
I have been to many hotels around, but if I have to advise, then this is by far the top hotel in Madinah, considering the cleanliness, service, and proximity to the ladies gate.
