This is a super unique place sitting directly on the water. It’s very peaceful and the staff is so warm, friendly, and caring. It’s gorgeous you can literally jump into the water from your bungalow! The room had every amenity you need and hot showers. There are activity books as well as restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff is very accommodating for any activities and there is much to see in the area. It’s a very beautiful place!

The place is stunning, you feel you are in the jungle but just blocks away from the main street. Ideal option for a quieter stay (not in the middle of bocas town) but walking distance to some beaches, restaurants, etc. The domes are really special - loved the circular window overlooking the jungle. Breakfast was exquisite!

Hot in mid-August and dusty (due to a lot of road construction before laying pavement) in the main part of town (which is about 2 blocks by 7 blocks or so). No shortage of food options - restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Jumping off spot for assorted tours to other islands, etc. Plan on spending a fair amount of cash.

I think the town itself is tailored more for a younger party crowd. Away from town was more peaceful. We went to experience the available scuba diving, which is decent but can't compare to sites like Ambergris Key or Bonaire. Probably better for people who don't spend regular time at the beach; this would feel more "special" if we hadn't recently spent time in Nueva Gorgona which has a really spectacular beach. We really liked eating at JJ's Blended and at Pepe Chupepe's. The food was good and the waitstaff was very welcoming and attentive. Things are definitely laid back and we enjoyed eating at the restaurants along the water where we could also watch the boats.

A lot of insects even dangerous and terrible!
A lot of insects even dangerous and terrible! MY HOLIDAYS were awful! Irritations, suffering and impossibility to get sun because of the uncountable bites. This island is not good for allergic or insects sensible tourists

There is road construction EVERYWHERE.
There is road construction EVERYWHERE. We had no problem with their shared taxi, which means you will have several people squeezed in with you, going more or less in the same direction, but with the construction, many times your cab will not be able to reach your destination. This is Mexico 40 years ago.

If I was 25 and wanted to drink all day, it might be the place for a vacation. Lots of bars and clubs. I food is ok if you can get pass the barkers in the street. If you get out of city central, you can find some lovely beaches, but they are packed with people. We stayed in town for 5 days and two days on an out Island. Be prepared for many of the three- and four-star hotels have no AC. I have traveled all over the world; this would be on the bottom of my list. They haven't taken care of the environment or the waters that bring people to this location.
This hostel is less than a block from where the ferry docks so sea views are abundant without the up charges for being right on the water. A walk to a beach to swim/beginner surf or dine in an inexpensive but delicious fonda is 15 min.
Between people attending the Spanish school and regular hostel guests who are diving, surfing, or otherwise touring, this is a very international experience. There is a great youthful vibe.
The place is beautiful, right on the water, beautifully decorated and overall just very comfy. The room is lovely and bed comfortable, and I really liked the outdoor shower. Breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in this type of accomodtion. The staff is super friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend
Lovely location on the water. Superb breakfast every day; best I've ever had at a B and B. Great AC and comfy rooms. Very pleasant and welcoming common area with a small, well equipped kitchen. Very helpful and friendly owners. And being right on the water is a true joy!
