Swakopmund is a colourful, lively town full of street surprises around every corner. People are warmly welcoming.. It is easy to explore by foot., a cooling sea breeze makes this even more comfortable. Wildlife peeps up to greet you, guinea fowl, weaver birds and vegetation and palm trees add colour, shade and shelter. Cafe life adds interest, as do numerous craft shops, stalls and hand shops.Markets popped up before Christmas where I again sampled Fat cakes, and Mopani worms for the first time.
A tour out of town to see wellwitchia, moon valley where a Mad Max movie was shot was stunning. I need no encouragement to go again.

Swakopmund is always a great tourist location for our holiday. The place is easy accessible and shops, restaurants, museum, beach and other attractions are closeby. The only hicup is that there are osome restaurants that have racist tendencies towards us (blacks) but whenever we experience such we deal with it maturely so that our children do not realise it and we sincerely home this will change because we believe each individual has a right to choose to dine. We are from Botswana and we are not used to be treated differently. Other than that, Swakop is a beautiful place

I am Namibian and can never get enough of Swakopmund and its surrounding towns! The coastal breeze is amazing and endless activities that can pleasantly be repeated due to the breath-taking landscapes! This time around we visited the beach next to the Am Platz Meer shopping mall, prepared and enjoyed a poitjie, Dolphin Park were the kids enjoyed themselves on the water slides & pool and had a barbeque. While other family members went for the Sandwich Harbour tour (amazing!).
Simply be mindful of the time of the year you visit due to the weather.

Great City, a little bit overcrowded with international tourists during festive season, overwhelming staff in hospitality establishments.
Dune 7 Park is a great place- quad biking is a key highlight for children. different beaches nice and variety. Pink salt lake was awesome but there was no guide nor parking to view the lake which could be dangerous.

I’m from central Namibia where we have a totally different weather than the coastal towns so It’s always a breath of fresh air to be hugged by the cool and lovely coastal weather! Swakopmund is the perfect place to get away from the busy city life and it offers so much activities to enjoy with your loved ones.

Really nice hotel! We had one of the newer rooms and they were fantastic! Comfy bed, huge bathroom, working tv, balcony with sea view. The location was really good, very central. The staff were lovely and helped us book our activities for the next day.
Free, secure parking. We felt very safe.
Would stay here again, definitely recommend!
We arrived and was relocated to a self-catering accommodation directly across the road, Beach Garden i think it was call. This one and Sea View Guesthouse are run by the same owners i think as they approached me on arrival. My Booking included breakfast BUT it was not available. Very disappointed
We had a fantastic time in Swakopmund and Ocean Melody was the perfect base to explore the town and surrounding area. The property is about a 25 min walk along the beach to the centre of town. It was beautifully equipped and Anita was lovely and very helpful to make our stay very special
