The montains and the sea is beautiful. Nice pictures and OK snorkeling. But the town Budva and the beach is dirty with garbage everywhere! Lots of new hotels under construction. Hectic traffic and too narrow sidewalks. ! But If you still go there, the old town is nice to visit and the one day boat tour with the pirate boat.

Surprisingly touristic place in all the wrong ways - overly crowded beaches & badly overpriced restaurants with mediocre food.
The sea and the mountains are beautiful, we still had a good time laying in the sun, but we definitely enjoyed our vacations in little villages and campsites in Spain, Italy and Greece way better in the previous years.

It might feel a bit touristy seeing posters of Sveti Niola plastered all over Budva, and honestly the crowds, garbage and party atmosphere don't make this the most appealing day trip destination. Nonetheless, the island is popular with tourists, known locally as the Hawaii of Montenegro.

Budva is a great place to visit- we preferred the old town and especially the restaurants located there as they were reasonably priced. We went to the beach but didn't enjoy it as it was so busy and we walked across Budva to access one of the "quieter" beaches but it was completely rammed with people so I would recommend staying somewhere with a pool.
The main beach front area and old town becomes very busy in the evening and it's great to see such an active nightlife. It's very easy to get around but be mindful that Budva can be hilly if your hotel is located away from the central area, which was something we didn't know about.
One tip for guests, that we did not know about, is most shops only accept cash and the exchange rate in the bank's in Budva is awful and we only found 1 cash machine that doesn't charge £4.99 for a withdrawal.

Budva is a charming little town with amazing food, swimming, shopping and fun. You can spend all day walking through Old Town. The food is fresh. The locals are very nice. The only thing is there are a lot of very wealthy foreign people who have decided to build massive hotels and apartment buildings on this small piece of land. There is no where to park if you rent a car and the prices for rooms/Airbnb's are skyrocketing. I vistaed Budva in 2019 and it was a lot quieter and less busy. The Pekaras have great food. I found out that I love beef burek. I had it every morning for breakfast from the Pekara next to the farmers market. I love this country. My husband is originally from Igalo, Montenegro and Budva has a special place in our hearts. The prices in the summer are about double what they are in the off season.
Bring good walking shoes because you can walk everywhere. Mogren Beach is really beautiful but, get there early or there is nowhere to sit. You also have to pay for the lounge chairs. The price depends on how close to the water your are. $50 for front row and about $30 for all the way in the back. I recommend ordering a bowl of watermelon while at this beach. It was the best watermelon I have ever had.

The construction sites around the appartment are quite noisy but of course Budva is happy that new buildings are being built.
Most important the people of Montenegro we met are very nice people with a great sense of hospitality and humor.
This was a last minute booking for us whilst exploring Montenegro.
The location was close to the beach and a taxi ride to the old town.
The staff were so kind and friendly and I can't speak highly enough of them.
The room was small for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children) but felt clean.
Breakfast was on the 6th floor and had a view of Budva.
Our stay at the hotel "Montenegro" was very convenient and I can say that was better than I expected. Room is OK, service is OK,food is also OK. There is a nice beach near the hotel.
