Loved the food and the people. Shopping is light on the pocket. Must visit is Surat castle Dutch Cemetry, and Dumas Beach. You should not skip the Food and shopping here. It's amazing!!!! Not to mention!!!! It's very very very clean. A very apt space for business!!!! I loved everything about this place

Surat is not worth a special visit.
Surat is not worth a special visit. However I stayed an extra night here because I was in a pleasant hotel and I needed more time to make plans for onward travel.
The main place of interest is the fort which has been restored. This was a large well-executed project and many discoveries were made as the ruined building was explored and rebuilt.
Now it is a lovely building and there are also many ceramics, textiles and ivory miniatures on display.
The city is noisy and dirty with some old carved wooden houses.
It is not particularly attractive but it is safe and people were friendly so I enjoyed my stay.
I left by bus and I noticed that there were several upmarket shopping malls on the outskirts.
It was certainly a convenient place for me to stop and review my itinerary.

Buzzing, bustling city abuz with auto-rickshawas can get you pretty much everywhere, very busy railway station, friendly people lots of eateries , visit to Zampha Bazar an excellent experience, Tapti River and Sea coast/beeches also.

We stay for the second time at this beautiful property. The hotel is at the central location but still very green and quiet. It is designed in quaint look with a lot of care and attention to detail, which definitely ads comfort to your stay. The staff is always attentive. Especially noteworthy is the breakfast - a very wide spread where everyone will find something delightful.
Lovely stay at FabHotel Crescent hotel Surat. Poolside view was good... We had lunch at goose restaurant which was too good specially there laal Maas and garlic naan.... In the evening dinner at library restaurant which was wow!!!! Next day breakfast at new zolocrust. All items was excellent speciality there live dosa and cutting tea...
