I did not love the swarming and games the locals played on the tourists. They would walk up to you and argue with you to accept their services or buy their products. I felt the misogamy throughout India, seeing the differences between men and woman and that they were seen as less than. I did not like being treated like an ATM. Most places you go to are dirty. Make sure you bring cash, because barely anyone accepts credit cards, even if it says so on the door. If none of that bothers you, then there are beautiful things in India. I've heard south India is a little bit more easy going. There is significant poverty and children and women will come up and knock on the glass of the mode of transport you are on if you choose the street. Pickpocketing is rampant, keep your valuables in hand or in front of you at all times. My partner was "pickpocketed" countless times, but he had nothing in those pockets thankfully. Uber is what we used to get around to not have to deal with taxi fraud or haggling fees. If you use ride share, be sure to have your ride before you go out onto the street so you don't get swarmed when you are looking at your phone. My favorite was a street food tour of chandni chowk in the afternoon, but otherwise was told to be very careful of the street food due to poor hygiene practices. I heard from a local guide that the subway is an easy way to get around and avoids the traffic, but we did not take it while we were there. Our private day tour took us to a carpet store, kind of dumped us in there, so be sure to be prepared for things like that.

We visited some amazing and beautiful heritage sites, including Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, India Gate and Akshardham. Unfortunately Red Fort was closed during our visit period.
We hired a Blusmart premium car with driver for the day for 3 full days, so easy to book through the Blusmart app and you can add whichever stops you would like to visit on the app. The driver waits for you at each stop. Fantastic service in a comfortable a/c SUV car at an excellent price (about 2500 rupees/ £25 each day).
Overall Delhi was a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to go back.

Unfortunately, I got scammed in Delhi. I was supposed to travel in India till 18th to do the Vipassana Course, but I got too frustrated after what happened to me. I flew to Japan I from here I will go back to Ireland and won't be able to join the course. Never going back there.

This was one of the best hotels we stayed while travelling in India and definitely this was the newest one. It was located in an area with hotels all around and only a few minutes walk from New Delhi Train Station where the Airport Express comes and goes. The whole hotel was very clean and great looking with marble everywhere. The manager was friendly and the staff helpful. The rooms we booked looked great, the shower was awesome (rainforest feeling) and we all enjoyed the complimentary breakfast on the rooftop.
