A lot of poorly educated entitled Russians (and tourists from India). They will cut in line at the queue, or hit you on the slopes. Sometimes it can soil your experience in Gudauri.
The staff doesn't know how to properly maintain the ski slopes. Even in 100cm of snow there were a lot of areas with rocks protruding from the ski piste or areas with rocks mixed with the snow. We totaled our skis in 9 days skiing.
A lot of tourist traps. But, if you learn fast, you can get to a point were you can avoid most of them.

I traveled to Gudauri with my family of two, and we rented a vehicle from Localrent, which was incredibly easy. We visited during the Christmas season in December when the area was covered in snow. Most places were beautifully illuminated with Christmas lights and decorations.
In Gudauri, you can find everything you need, including ski equipment, groceries, money exchanges, and many food stalls. In the evening, the area near the ski slopes transforms into a winter wonderland, offering a scenic view of the surrounding mountains and the sparkling Christmas lights from nearby shops.

Caucasus mountain views are very surreal. There should be more and bigger supermarkets because the Spar which is the only one we went to, only had frozen foods, there should be fresh meat and fish so we can cook hot soup to counter the cold in the winter. But overall, Gudauri is a lovely place to visit especially when it will be fully built.

The apartment is 100% consistent with description and photos given on Booking.com. It is very convenient, spacious, well-equipped and perfectly located just down the ski slopes, in the centre of New Gudauri, with stunning mountain view and very close to restaurants and shops. The building Loft 2 is a newly finished apart-hotel with 24hrs reception regular staff and ski depot, but on top of that Kote, the owner of this particular apartment, also takes care of his guests and is very communicative and helpful. All in all, fully recommended!
The Gudauri Loft is located right on the lower piste of the Gudauri ski resort, with a pool, spa and restaurant on the top floor overlooking the mountains and pistes. In general, one gets quite what is advertised here on the site - great location, great amenities, clean and well equipped rooms, though with Georgian characteristics. Service is a a little chaotic, sometimes you get drinks only after you finish your food, room cards randomly stop working ... Wifi is great though.
The hotel was very near and walking distance to the SKI area and restorants but no need to go out because the hotel has its own restaurant that serves delicious food and affordable compared to other resto, the hotel location is perfect for the mountain view. We would like to thank you George the owner of the hotel who personally meet us during the check in and made sure that everything we need is ok. He is very helpful and friendly. Thank you so much Gudauri Diamond.
Everything was perfect. The host - Marina was very hospitable and we all felt like a big Georgian family there. We had Georgian home cuisine both in breakfast and dinner which was prepared by Marina.
The room was warm with a view to the mountains. Everything was tidy and clean.
We will return to Hotel Toni again, the best experience I have ever had.
Great location. New Gudauri feels much more like a ski resort than the slope near Marco Polo or Gudauri Loft (the other one) does. Would happily stay at New Gudauri again.
