St Giles London – A St Giles Hotel, hotel in London

Located in London’s West End, less than 5 minutes’ walk from Tottenham Court Underground Station and Oxford Street shops is the St Giles.

I've stayed in this hotel many times. It's a great tourist hotel which is in a fantastic location. It is so easy to walk to many places, Soho, Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Theatreland, China Town. There are cafes, supermarkets and a 24/7 diner close by. My priorities are a clean bathroom with a great shower, and a good bed.

We walked to the V&A and it wasn’t crowded and we had a great afternoon there looking at beautiful objects. We also walked to the Royal College of Music Museum which was excellent looking and listening to old and new musical instruments. We also walked to The Proms concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, which were fantastic and what an iconic and amazing building, well worth a visit! We also had a delicious meal at all the venues. London is a great city to walk around if you can as there’s so much to see and do!

What a fall the city has made.

What a fall the city has made. My last trip was quite a while ago and it was a disappointment to see how terrible it has become. Litter and refuse, homeless and drug addicted nearly everywhere. Not my cup of tea -- you can keep the crowds and shabbiness. There are many nicer destinations to tour.

The Monument - 311 steps up a spiral staircase with fabulous views over London, for only £6. Look for opening times though, as it closes for lunch. Near to The Monument is the ruined church of St Dunstan which has seating areas, plants that enhance the stonework and trees for shade. A lovely place to sit and relax in a busy city.

I've stayed at the Balham Lodge on previous occasions. It's a cheap'n'cheerful spot in part of London where I have a good friend, so although it may appear a bit off the beaten track, it's actually easy to reach on public transport and a nice, quiet locale. Unusually for cheap hotels/b&b-s in London, the rooms (at least the ones I've stayed in) have decent-sized bathrooms and good quality showers. Facilities are clean, fairly basic and no one could reasonably expect any more at these prices.

Unfortunately I would not recommend the hotel, it was very dirty in my room mould in the shower room and hair there was no tv remote and my room was right next to reception office and was very loud lots of banging doors and staff looked miserable . I’m not one to complain but I was on a trip to London and just wanted somewhere early to get to and stay at but unfortunately I will not be coming back , also took photos of room for proof . The only good part was the bed was comfy .

The room was big and nicely decorated. I loved the shower room. The hotel is situated few minutes walk from Marble arch. We didn't have breakfast but there are many shops closeby. The room was always clean and so was the bathroom. The lounge area was small yet amazing. The hotel has certain touches you do not find in other hotels. It feels homey. The price is not cheap, but yet again cheap and London never go together.

Lovely hotel right near St Pauls. Room was quiet considering the location and nice and dark at night. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Hotel staff were lovely - friendly and efficient. Not cheap, but on a par with similar standard central london hotels. Both the coffee shop and breakfast were great. Loved the location.
