Majoitus Kuukkeli has been housing tourist traveling in Saariselkä for over 20 years. Our properties are found in the center of Saariselkä and in Laanila, but we have destinations also in other Northern Lapland villages like Inari, Ivalo and near Ivalo Airport, Vuotso and Sodankylä. Kuukkeli is a brand with a vision aiming to fulfill guests hopes and necessities while visiting us. For that reason we provide a wide selection of services to make it easy holiday for everyone. Under the Saariselän Kuukkeli Ltd, are e.g. Shopping Center Kuukkeli, where is Saariselkä's only grocery store K-Market Kuukkeli. The shopping center is on three floors, and on the top 2 floors are the Cafe-Eatery Kuukkeli and the K-Market Kuukkeli´s department for souvenirs, gift items, clothes and lot´s of more. K-Market Kuukkeli's department for groceries and other daily products is on the middle, 1st floor. On the same floor, there is also the Majoitus Kuukkeli office and reception, as well as Postal services and Matkahuolto parcels pick-up point. On the lowest ground floor is Kuukkeli Bicycle and Equipment Rental-Booking Office. The ground floor also has Saariselkä's Alko (Finnish spirits store), Posti's parcel machine, and a bottle recycling machine, which return receipts can be redeemed at K-Market Kuukkeli's cashier. Taxi Kuukkeli picks up and takes you both near and far, and drives airport transportation with an advance booking.

Jaspis (Jasper) cabin is a renovated and refurnished property approx. 6 km from the center of Saariselkä, in the Hangasoja holiday cottage area. In addition to the peaceful location, the feeling of the wilderness is enhanced by the small fell river Hangasoja flowing right in front of the cottage, which has even in winter open spring for carrying water into cottage. There is no running water in the cottage or sauna, other than by carrying it by yourself from open spring. The cottage´s spacious living room has a fireplace and a dining set. The sofa can be spread out for bed. The sleeping spaces are two separate sleeping alcoves, separated from the other rooms by curtains, and each alcove has new beds for two. Above the sleeping alcoves is a low loft with a slanted ceiling and two mattresses. A steep staircase leads to the loft. The separate kitchen has all the necessary equipment for cooking and a drain for dishwater. The water from the spring can be used as household water such as for washing dishes, but it is recommended to bring own drinking water separately. The use of spring water other than domestic water is on the customer's own responsibility. The cottage has an electrically operated flush toilet. There is also an electrically heated sauna in the same building, but the washing water must be heated in a wood-fired cauldron. There is a camp fire spot in the yard and electrical heating poles for two cars in the cottage's parking lot (approx. 100 m). The customer take care themselves of the snow work between the parking area and the cottage In Saariselkä area, all the destinations of Majoitus Kuukkeli have reception/office and accommodation keys pick up/return located in Shopping Center Kuukkeli, at Kiveliöntie 8, 99830 Saariselkä. The office is open Mon-Fri from 9 am to 5 pm. If you arrive after 5 p.m. or at the weekend, you will find more detailed instructions of this in the booking confirmation. If your estimated time of arrival is later than Shopping Center.

The Saariselkä area's excellent ski tracks network, slalom skiing and snowboarding slopes, winter walking and hiking trails to UK Park are a short car ride away. Like all other services of Saariselkä, Laanila, Kakslauttanen and Kiilopää.
