Larnaca is a beautiful coastal town in the south part of Cyprus, featuring long sandy beaches, modern buildings, water sports facilities and interesting cultural sites. This inviting city is considered to be one of the oldest in Cyprus, combining successfully the present with the past.

Larnaca was quite good, 2 major drawbacks are the cats which are everywhere and seem welcomed by restaurants and fed by diners, that is really not to our liking, have seen this before in other resorts and countries but I consider it a real problem in Larnaca.
Larnaca airport was also challenging, they really need to improve that process going through departure and security. Queue at gate then queue to take an additional photo which prints a photo but the photo did not print properly for most travellers so you could not get straight through passport control and had to join another long queue where passport staff took their time, they had no interest in the massive queues, then further queue to get through the security scanners. Seems an unacceptable process which could be improved by checking printers are working and lighting is not so bright it fades the photos and queue could be much better organised. I would not return for these reasons, not work the hassle.

This is a small city with very little to do.
1.
This is a small city with very little to do.
1. The beaches are average, but several factors tip the balance against a visit here: there are no free beach showers (only coin-operated on some beaches), there are no drinking fountains, all beach chairs and umbrells are for rent via QR codes that take one to a broken link. The few beach bars are dramatically overpriced with terrible service. The coast off Larnaka is quite shallow, so the water tends to be muddy, with garbage and seaweed debris.
2. The Lazarus church is a nice visit, although the staff are rude and unwelcoming.
3. If one is willing to rent a car, it is possible to drive into the mountains to visit the forests and canyons further inland and to the west. Cyprus is quite small, so everything is available within a day trip, which is a huge advantage.
4. Larnaka airport is one of the worst airports I've ever visited. Because it is small, it is unable to handle peak travel periods. Lines are excruciating and staff are intentionally rude and unhelpful (the only professional here is the woman who gives public transport information on the arrivals level). The airlines here employ a single company that handles checkin procedures, and this company seems to be operating a scam of getting passengers to miss their flights so that they need to purchase a new itinerary at the exaggerated prices offered at the airport (guess what--it's the same company!). The only advantage of the airport is its proximity to the city.
Overall, the advantages of Larnaka (history, centrality within Cyprus, and lower prices compared to other EU destinations on the Med) are outweighed by the considerable negatives: a terribly run airport, average beaches with bad services, widespread theft and petty crime (although violent crime is exceedingly rare), and universally poor customer service.

The airport experience at the security and passport posts...
The airport experience at the security and passport posts can be very long and exhausting. The duty free has a large dining area with lots of choices but it became very expensive (€4.90 for a 0.5L bottle of Coke Zero). The Metropolis mall has lots of shops and restaurants but it was very crowded on Sunday and don't expect a bus back after 1700.

Fantastic hotel , spotlessly clean and fantastic location and value for money , receptionist was extremely polite and helpful , i have stayed in various hotels in Larnaca and some a lot more expensive but this apartment is one of the best and extremely cheap , the room was a great size no street noise but so close to the beach , i would recommend this place to anyone and i have already recommended to a friend.
The little balcony with a full view of the sea was the best feature of this apartment, and the one I really appreciated. Across the street from the beach, on a street full of restaurants and cafes. The apartment was not very big but comfortable. Easy access to the airport with the bus stop right across the street. Another bus stop a few meters away, for buses to go all over Cyprus.
The location was convenient, because I arrived late and this was basically the only hotel located very close to the airport and doing check-in 24/7.
Close to a little beach(3 minutes away) and a promenade, leading to the city center and all the attractions. Only 10-15 walk.
There is a clean pool area and a cheap bar.
Breakfast is bad, but still nice it's included.
Located inside Francis Court (same side of road as the Frangiorgio Hotel, google maps show it wrong as well as the Frangiorgio kiosk where you need to check in). Great location close to the Finikoudis beach, Central Bus Station and Larnaca airport. We were accommodated in a different apartment than we had booked. It was big with 3 bed rooms and two bathrooms
The location is perfect! The seaview from our flat/balcony was one of the highlights of our trip. Well located for Larnaca itself, and also across the road from the bus stop where you can catch the bus to the airport and elsewhere in Cyprus. Flat was a good size. Excellent value for money!
