The room was exceptionally clean which is rare in this area for this price. The location was great for the dive shop and only a 25 minute walk to coco beach. Having my own bathroom was excelleny and it was nice to have my own fridge and use of the shared kitchen. The staff member was extremely nice and helpful, she even left me something for breakfast in the morning.

What a beautiful little hotel! Perfect location, walkable to Playa del Coco & restaurants/bars. Sadly we only stayed for 1 night, however would have been very happy to stay longer. Breakfast was delicious & very generous. The pool was lovely & warm. Thank you to the wonderful staff for being so welcoming!

Offering an outdoor pool, Toro Blanco is located in Coco, just 150 metres from Coco Beach and 8-minutes' drive from Ocotal Beach. Free WiFi access, BBQ facilities and bicycle rentals are available.

Hotel was lovely and clean, beds were comfortable, pool was clean with towels available to also use for the beach. Sitting area outside the room was nice and spacious with a comfortable lounge. Breakfast was pretty basic, but we were prepared for that. Staff were really friendly, giving lots of tips and advice including letting us know about the waterfall further up the beach which was really nice. It was raining a lot so we weren't able to do much but chill out, which was what we needed anyway, this was a comfortable place to chill.

The customer service representative Katherine was extremely rude and made our stay unpleasant. She would not accommodate us and would not assist us in any effort with our request and questions. She walked away when I was asking for help.

Easy walking distance to businesses and the beach.

Easy walking distance to businesses and the beach. Not really a LOT of hustlers/sheisters, etc.. We ate local, Indian, and Greek foods. We had a vehicle and traveled to other places outside of Coco.

I have been to CR twice now, both times I've stayed in Coco.

I have been to CR twice now, both times I've stayed in Coco. The first time was a random selection based on a whim travel, but we had such an amazing time that we decided to bring more friends back 4 years later. We trained both times at Playa BJJ and did the sunset catamaran tour with Marlin del Rey both times. The second time, we rented a villa so we cooked alot of our own meals - the grocery stores, meat store, and fruit stands were amazing. The beach culture was great. A couple of us ended up using Uber and taxis - very manageable. Coconutz Brewhouse was great with their live music. El Capricho Mexican Restaurant & Bar was so much fun with a fishbowl drink and karaoke. Tortuga Bar was great. The boys hiked out to Isleta El Coco and had an amazing time. We hiked to La Leona waterfall - not super hard but requires mobility as you ramble alongside the rocky river for a few kilometers... absolutely worth it! We also went to Catarata Llanos del Cortes (another waterfall) where you can walk up to a lagoon and swim right in the waterfall. I would go back to Coco again - hands down.

The timing of our visit was great.

The timing of our visit was great. No crowds but hot, hot, hot and humid. April 27-May 3. Because so many people visit Costa Rica, the cost of food and just about everything isn't reasonable. We ate at the well known local restaurants which were expensive but good. Too much butter used with the fish, though I should have insisted on braised fish. We ate at Mar Azul. The Mexican restaurant was good. Note, for those who just jump in the car and pick a destination, beware that all the roads aren't paved. We went to Nosara and man-oh-man, though driving but ABSOLUTELY scenic. Glad we had a 4X4 and good ground clearance.

It is a family situation, very very basic.

It is a family situation, very very basic. Clean with a kitchen that had no cooking utilities other than a coffee maker & fridge that did not work. I had a cooler, my own cooking supplies etc so it worked for me. Radio & Tv could be a bit loud but shut down early. I have lived in Latin America, so I understand a family situation where many may not! I loved the hostess! I love the proximity to the beach in the downtown and if you don’t have a vehicle to get around, it’s perfect for that and super inexpensive! Bonuses for travellers who don’t want to be a hostel

Costa Rica is beautiful and the people are friendly and lovely to get to know. There are options for those who are active - think hiking through the rainforest, fishing, surfing or for relaxing - think sitting by the pool or ocean with a good book. The shopping is fun. There are animals and beautiful nature - volcanos, waterfalls, flowers to surround yourself with.

The staff are great. They went out of their way to accommodate us, for example by changing our room to a quieter zone of the hotel and in helping us organizing a small party for our daughter's birthday (thanks, Franklin!). The location of the hotel is lovely as well, and the sea is great for bodyboarding and if you are lucky you might see whales from the beach. The waterpark is a great plus for kids (and daddies who still want to feel like a kid).

The hotel is directly across from the beach with hammocks and lounge areas onsite and a skate park, basketball court, table tennis courts, and other fitness/water activities & tour options nearby. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance and some of the most friendly people I have ever met. Breakfast is included, credit cards and US dollars are readily accepted, and many people speak English.
