The host, Nita san, is super friendly and kind. She treated me almost like a grandchild of hers and provided the best tips and reminders for travelling around. The breakfast is very delicious. Bathroom is clean, spacious and homey. I got to enjoy the private onsen all by myself. All the decorations in the house is heart warming and lovely! I had a wonderful stay and even made friends with other guests. Highly recommend the place!

We love everything about this place! The hospitality of the owner, the tatami room, the mountain view from the room, the private onsen, and the breakfast! We got 1 foot massager chair in our room which very helpful to ease my mother in law feet soreness after long walk.
The owner offers free pickup back and forth from Yufuin station which is really helpful too.
The room itself is very spacious and the futon is super comfortable that we rested well. We ordered breakfast from the owner and it tasted super delicious even though it was a simple Japanese style bento.
We really enjoyed and had a great stay at Yufuin Sunday. Totally recommended for people who want to stay out from the crowd, but with ryokan feeling (sleep in tatami room and dip into onsen). Thank you so much!!

Situated within 25 km of Resonac Dome Oita and 5.1 km of Beppu Station, 花源 offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Beppu. The host was incredibly kind, be sure to ask him for restaurants and onsen recommendations! The facility itself was homely and very pleasant, quiet too. All of this for a price which is honestly quite cheap. If I visit Beppu again, this is the place I'll return to.

Accomodation was very clean and all basic necessities were provided for. Location was great and convenient.

Great little guesthouse in Beppu walkable everywhere. Nice owners. Very quiet. Traditional Japanese guesthouse.
A wonderful stay all round. Great hosts, and excellent breakfast. Located centrally next to the station in Taketa, and only a short walk from a great public hot spring.
It's a little bit farther away from the city center which is perfect if you're looking for a quiet and relaxed stay. If you are getting to Yufuin by public transport it might be a good idea to ask for a transfer from the train station to the hotel. From the room we heard birds singing and could see the mountains. The dinner was also exceptional.
Authentic Japanese ryokan. Three onsens available for private use, just write your room name on the timesheet. Very friendly and helpful hosts and their staff made for a most enjoyable stay. We had breakfast each day and an exquisite dinner on our last evening. Not cheap but well worth it as a treat.
Hosts were super friendly and able to communicate smoothly in English. Food was excellent. I like how quiet it is and the room is very comfortable. It was freezing cold in the outdoor onsen at night but as soon as I am in the onsen it was fine and I loved it. We walked through the cobblestone streets nearby and got some nice photos. There’s not much to do in the surroundings but allows you focus on resting.

This modern Japanese hotel was a delight. Perched about 5 kilometres from the waterfront, it was quiet location with plenty of available parking. If you require lovely, spacious accommodation without the need for hot pools and hotel type amenities, this facility is perfect. We were greeted by a charming and friendly receptionist, who conveniently for us, spoke excellent English. Finally, this hotel was well-priced, with a tasty breakfast sandwich provided for early morning sustainance.
Guest House Sakichi is a very charming Japansese house and very well maintained, the room was cosy and futons very comfortable with clean facitilies (shared toilet and bathroom). The hosts were kind and there is a sento/onsen just in front of the house, where the hosts advise us to go at our arrival and it was very relaxing. The house is situated at about 15-20 min walk from the Beppu station, along the river in a very nice neighborhood.
The guesthouse was a lovely accommodation with very friendly hosts. The daughter of the owners kindly welcomed me with tea and a snack! :) I advise to bring ear plugs, because old Japanese houses like this one are not sound insulated. I still think it is worth staying there because it is so charming! The common spaces are very clean.
