Hawklee Country House, hotel in Lidgetton

Set on the banks of the Lions’ River and the Midlands Meander, Hawklee Country House offers thatched country cottages, a garden, restaurant and sun terrace.

Hawklee is a piece of paradise! Tanya served me exceptional food in the most peaceful, soul-renewing environment I could possibly have imagined! There are birds-galore and I was VERY fortunate to spot a barn owl on my walk through the brush. My favourite features in the unit were the spa bath with bath salts and the SUPER soft nightgowns and squishy bed. I loved every minute of my stay, and can't wait to return with my Hubby ❤️❤️

Theresa is the kindest, most welcoming host. It's is absolutely GORGEOUS there. Private, beautiful gardens and view, and we fell in love with our cottage. The bathroom is incredible! Little extras like milk, biscuits, tissues, thick fluffy towels and the most wonderful closed wood fire. The braai on the huge verandah is amazing. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I love the peace and quiet. It was isolated from the rest of the world. The view from the front porch was amazing. The challenges we had with the water was resolved speedily, and with a smile. It turned out to just be valve that was closed at the main supply. Celine, our host, left me a Comrades Marathon gift and message on pre-race day. That was really special.

Host was a cut above the rest with a clear vision and excellent communications . We were never in doubt about anything - from meal times and meal choices , to directions and creature comforts ! The setting was awesome and the tranquility experienced was excellent . Breakfast on the deck was the cherry on the top . Masana needs the support of all of us to make a success of this guest house . We recommend this venue without any hesitation and wish her all the success in the future .
