Hostal Ruta Sur is located in the calm and characterful San Antonio area of the city. Simple en-suite rooms are dark but comfortable, with plenty of hot water. Rooms are arranged around leafy internal courtyards with communal seating. The staff are helpful. The hostel is wonderfully quiet at night, with no noise from the street. Breakfast (not included in the room rate) is available. A peaceful haven.
The house is beautiful. Spacious, clean and has a well equipped big kitchen with all you'll need for your stay. Loved the patio with a hammock for relaxing and the four rooms are really comfortable with aircon, wifi, tv and hot water in the showers. Everything is made to make you feel at home. Beds are super comfy and coffee is free :) We loved staying in the peaceful neighborhood of San Antonio. It's quiet and has no noise at night, but you are still close to restaurants, shops and nightlife.

Its a bit outside of town, but I did find this part more interesting then the center.

While being in a great location in a busy part of town (right on San Antonio Park near the church), Magic Garden House was tucked away with a quiet, welcoming and peaceful atmosphere! The hosts were incredibly kind and cooked the most delicious breakfasts. We extended our stay multiple times and even returned after leaving Cali for a few days! In our two months traveling through South America it was one of our top stays, and absolutely our favorite stay in a big city.
