Country house set in a beautiful garden. Just 4 kms away from Meinong. Restaurants near by. The hosts are wonderful and prepared a beautiful breakfast. It was going down to 11 Celsius but our host showed up with an electric fireplace to keep us cosy. We stayed in two different units because we added a day and both were lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Surrounded by gardens, Kaohsiung Meinong Rabbit Paul B&B provides free bike rentals. It is located within a 15-minute drive of Zhongzheng Lake and Meinung Folk Village.

Nice owner, clean house. WiFi worked (unlike some other homestays on this trip).
Bathroom had a bidet, which is always a plus.
House was quiet after 10pm, but...

A wonderful and beautiful village. Public transport almost non existence. Better to drive or by bicycle. Taxi must be pre-book, check with owner, travel around in taxi by Ms. Wong and she is knowledgeable and accommodating. Visited in Feb for flowers fields and great weather.
Wonderful housekeeper Ms. Wu is always around and helpful. Our balcony room was very comfortable and spacious. Main road traffic do not affect sleep once balcony glass doors are shut. Walkable bakery, local produce supermarket and a hidden delicious local food stall around. Short walk to center of village with local restaurants, bus stations and local open air market.
4 story building with limited rooms, book early. Lift available for higher floors. Good with luggage.

We spent three days in the Meinong District.
We spent three days in the Meinong District. A car is really necessary to explore the sights, but buses will get you between city centers. The Chison Night Market and Old Street are fun for an evening visit and a look at the architectural stone building facades from the turn of the 20th century. Hakka noodles and other specialties deserve a wider culinary audience! The Hakka Cultural Center is a small mall of vendors, with few attractions that merit the 15 minutes it takes to walk the site. Surrounding mountains are heavily forested with many hiking options for the fit and adventurous.
