It's a really cozy and nice place with everything you need. We slept really good in this wooden cabin and the mountain air was fantastic. Breakfast is delicious. Just be aware that if you book a room with shared bathrooms you have to bring your own bed linen (or you can rent). It's is really calm area with no distraction.

Ustedalen Hotel Geilo, hotel in Geilo

This family-run hotel is located in the ski resort of Geilo, 350 metres from the Vestlia slopes. It offers a traditional restaurant and rooms with views of the Ustedalen Fjord.

Thought the facilities in the room were basic for the price, the bed was a little uncomfortable. But apart from that the place was fine, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast selection was very good.

The downhill skiing is great for a party of mixed ability - you were never too far apart to meet up again. Nice variety of runs in Geiloheisen side. Less variety of runs in Geilolia but every run a great one. Being able to also set off on lots of varied XC ski trails is also a good selling point. There are a couple of good sized supermarkets in the town.

Geilo was a great location for the particular activities we planned. There are shops in the event you left an important piece of equipment or clothing at home. Other than that, there is one public laundry facility located at a camp site....LONG LINES OF CLOTHES .....would take 5 hours to eventually wash your own clothes.

Large, well equipped comfy 3 bedroom cabin in the woods a short walk from the ski lifts in Vestlia. Very quiet and peaceful location but only a few minutes drive from the town centre. Well signposted, easy to find and super easy to check-in picking the keys up from a lock box via a link sent to your phone. Vestlia ski resort is a hidden gem, perfect for intermediates and beginners, lovely pistes and no lift queues. Loved our stay there and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in this beautiful country.

Off-season Geilo is like a ghost town.

Off-season Geilo is like a ghost town. I visited in early September - summer is over, winter has not come yet. It's a plus when you're on hike, no crowds, no noise, no waiting for toilet in monuntain lodges. But it's nearly spooky when you're out dining. September in Geilo is for those who enjoy outdoors and shorter or longer hikes but at the same time don't fancy carrying a huge backpack from cabin to cabin. From Geilo you can go some loop tours, different difficulty levels and still enjoy hot shower, hotel bed and good breakfast.

The people were very friendly and helpful, starting with the owner of the accommodation, the ski patrol, the staff of the medical centre and the bus drivers. Geilo is a wonderful place for skiing, with a wide variety of slopes and opportunities. We've been there twice and enjoyed it both times. Given that high winds meant that parts of the ski resorts needed to be closed, it would have been helpful if information about which lifts were open was easily available. For example, one of the lifts at Slaatta has a board with the lifts that are open, which is very helpful. If such information were more widely shared, hat would be great. It was an enjoyable stay at Geilo.

Greta location at the bottom of the ski slopes and only five mins. walk to shops and train station. Hotel has many food and drink options. Very extensive breakfast offered, tasty light lunches in the bar and a good restaurant. Evening bar food not quite so good but still acceptable. Did not use the spa or swimming pool but they both looked good. Extensive range of other activities (bowling, table football and shuffleboard) all very enjoyable although at extra cost.

I had a wonderful stay at the BnB in Geilo, Norway, and I can’t recommend it enough! The location is beautiful, and the area itself is well worth a visit. The flat was fully furnished, extremely comfortable, and spotlessly clean. I loved the modern style and how well-maintained everything was. If you’re looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay in Geilo, I highly recommend considering their apartments. It was a fantastic experience!

Beautiful, sprawling hotel in a great setting, the ski run literally running to the door. Felt very spacious with a great mix of traditional and modern decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were a suite with double attached, both very clean, comfy and had all facilities we needed. Transfer to and from the train station was seamless. Would love to return.

We stayed only for one night traveling from Bergen to Oslo. We were surpised about the surroundings and regreted that we didn't book a night or two more in this region. The hotel is an old ski-hotel but completly up to date. Nice restaurant with a great view. In Winter you have a look at the skiing slopes. Breakfast was fine.
