The villa was wonderful! We were greeted personally and shown around the rooms. There were little gifts for us from the owners - homemade Greek cream cake, homemade biscuits and pomegranates. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the dining room had a huge table for family gathering. There is parking for two cars in the yard.
We love to travel, so we went to different beaches on the Pelion Peninsula every day. We visited Afissos beach (three times), Micro beach (twice) and Mylopotamos beach.

We had perfect stay in this great villa, that feels more like home than just a rented property. It is 3 level house, nicely decorated with all facilities for long or short stay. Bathroom in basement is work of art, there are also two bedrooms on this level. On the ground level there is great living room with the kitchen, dinning area and second bathroom. The top level of the house is great bedroom with perfect view on the village. We stayed with two kids and dog and enjoyed every moment in the house. As mentioned before, it feels like hope and that is what how kids called the house "our second house". Marathos is peaceful place, without beach bars, louds music, even without taverna. The only taverna is outside of the village next to local road on the way to main road to Volos. There are at least 4 beaches, in the village and in the next village that is 3-4 minutes drive from Marathos. All beaches are clean, water is usually calm, you will forget crowds and noise. Volos is very close, Pelion as well, so many beaches, supermarket and sites are just kilometers from Marathos.
Dimitris is GREAT host. I don't have enough right words to describe him and I am sure we will return to Blue Bay Villa soon! He helped us a lot during wildfires in the area. I also cannot find the words to thank him.

Although I frequently passed through Néa Ankhíalos in the past -when I was working in nearby Volos- I never had stayed there, and hadn't realised its potential for vacationing. Its proximity to Pelion and the incredibly fine beaches of the Aegean front of the Pelion mountain, had me pass it by, and it's a pity as Néa Ankhíalos has a very inviting beach and at the same time has restaurants to go to, close to the beach. Will visit again.

I can't really grumble as you get what you pay for with...
I can't really grumble as you get what you pay for with hotels. The reception team were great, but the bed was far too soft for a decent night's sleep. This hotel is great for an airport stopover but not sure that I'd want to stay there for a week.
We arrived for an over night stay driving from Athens to Veria. So, we were happy to get a nice and clean room, a good WiFi connection and a nice breakfast.
the hotel is not a 4 star hotel as one can expect but a very nice hotel, near the water front and with a good value for money
Very close to the sea and the beach. The hotel is nicely decorated. Breakfast is good and plentiful. The beds were a little harder than we were used to, but we slept well. The price is reasonable. We spent the night on our way from Athens to Thessaloniki.
