The Selwyn is well located just a short walk from Richmond train/tube station and easy to find. There are some nice cafes and restaurants nearby and Kew Gardens are within walking distance. The staff were very polite, friendly and professional in all interactions. The room was very clean and well laid out if a little small.

The building is lovely and all the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Our deluxe room was clean and nicely furnished. It wasn't a large room but big enough for two people. The bathroom was very good and the shower worked well. The bed was comfortable. I'd told them in advance we were celebrating a special occasion and there was a special surprise waiting for us in the room. The location is great (albeit with a fairly steep hill) and the view was fantastic.

Enjoyed my stay at the orange tree. Would definitely stay again. Nice comfortable bed with a beautiful bathroom. Enjoyed the drinks in the fridge that were available and the snacks. Tv had a range of movie channels available which was a plus.

We chose this place to be handy for Kew Gardens and so it proved to be with the No 65 bus passing by several of the possible entrances. In this respect it was perfect. There was a nice offering of tea, coffee and biscuits. It was possible to come and go at any time because we were on the ground floor and had our own access key. One of the hotel staff in particular was extremely helpful regarding transport and other questions we had in advance of our arrival and she sorted out a small problem over the name under which we had booked when we did arrive - and for this we were grateful. There was plenty of parking space.
A few minutes' walk from Richmond town centre and rail/Tube stations, the cosy, popular Red Cow is a restored inn offering home-cooked bar food and comfortable accommodation.

Central position. Station nearby. A little 'tired' but comfortable and clean. Friendly, helpful staff.
Richmond is a lovely town on the edge of London. Accessable by tube/underground and by train, it is an easy journey from London or Heathrow. The town is right by the Thames making for a lovely place to enjoy and pint or a meal at one of the numerous pubs and restaurants. You are moments away from green space either along the river or in the huge Richmond Park.

We chose Richmond Upon Thames because it was close to where our family lives. Richmond is a nice spot but expensive for dining out and very popular with the young heading out on the town - there were literally thousands standing drinking along the river front - no tables or chairs to sit at.
Overall, had it not been proximity to family we would not have chosen Richmond.

I'd want to live there if I moved to London!
I'd want to live there if I moved to London! There's a lovely long river walk (both banks) with restaurants on the Richmond side (I recommend the Gaucho and its patio). Also the very big Richmond Park, and I very much regret I did not have time to explore it. Unfortunately it's right under the approach path to Heathrow, so better get used to huge jets coming in overhead. Kew Gardens is in Richmond, and I spent a whole day there.

It was a good location for Hampton court which was easily accessed by bus.
The hotel was clean but we had to access our room across the carpark and on a couple of occasions the key did not work.
The room was comfortable but very small and the shower door was broken.
The food in the restaurant was not good at all and expensive, so much so we cancelled our meal for the second night and went to the pub down the road which had much better food.

Richmond Park and Terrace Gardens.
Richmond Park and Terrace Gardens. Lovely river walk, plenty of places to eat and drink sitting by the river. Boats and able to get into London as well. Its a lovely place for old and young.Very busy at weekends, advise booking a table at restaurants, we went to The Ivy, listened to music on the river, where everyone was drinking sitting in the sun.Best leave your car at local hotels and walk in as its easier as roads do get busy.
